OTish - does UCF have a relationship with EA / Tiburon? Could we ever get a madden NIL?

I’ve not seen this discussed before. A friend of mine from my UCF days went over to EA as a producer for madden. We’ve been out of contact for a while, but we swapped messages when I congratulated her and it got me thinking

Tiburon is based right in central Florida. Has UCF ever worked with them? How cool would a madden NIL be where we provide mo cap, crowd recordings for games etc? College kids would blown away by the opp to be part of madden. Would be a hell of a stadium sponsorship too.

They’re producing that new NCAA game… they could have UCF fans do chants for a bunch of other teams this season before games or at halftime or something. (Which would probably backfire, lol imagine asking UCF fans to chant S-E-C)

just curious if there’s any history there. Is there a pipeline of CS students or whatever going to work for the company?

OT- F’n kidney stones

So I’ve had some issue with blood in my urine recently and figured I was getting a kidney stone. About midnight Saturday, it decided to dance it’s way from my kidney to my ureter. And man was that painful. Had to go to the ER at about 2 in the morning and stayed until 7 or so. Got a CT scan and had a 5mm stone just out of the kidney. They gave me morphine to take care of the pain and Oxy to take home. I was hoping it would pass.

Last night the pain returned and went back to the ER where they admitted me to manage the pain. Talked to the Urologist this morning and he said there’s less then a 50% chance it would come out on its own so he wants to take it out this afternoon.

The only thing I’m worried about is the removal of the stent. Anyone here go through that and have any advice on getting it taken out?

Also, the business office came by and gave me the bill. Yikes! I have great insurance with a $3k cap thank god. The bill was $44,000 and gave them $1,000 and told me to bill me the rest. Only good thing about this is that I’ve hit my out of pocket for the year.

IMG four-star WR Devin Hyatt covers top-four with contenders

It might be a longshot, but Hyatt is looking at UCF even though they are not in his top-four. Update on Rivals:

OT: UH Coach Kelvin Sampson idea to help control NIL "Recruiting"

Obviously, it's still against NCAA Rules and many states rules to use $$ for recruitment of a player and Sampson suggest an idea that I noted a week or two that would help eliminate a lot of those $$$ bids common in this free agency era of recruiting:

Take away free agency for Undergrads.

Official NCAA Softball Regional Weather Thread - Friday games moved up🌩🥎

The Friday forecast doesn't look great (which we've known for days). I thought UCF might move up Friday's games to morning, but it's now 3 p.m. and they haven't announced anything. I'd be surprised if tomorrow's games happen, but you never know.

Could they extend the regional to Monday? I guess they might have to. But Saturday's weather doesn't look great either.

Lack of 200mm investment means 'chip shortage' will likely be long-term

Yeah, although 300mm wafers (where the money is at) will get boosts in production after another 18 months, a lot of trailing edge (e.g., durable good and non-leading tech control) ICs are still laid out on 200mm wafers. No one is putting money into those fabs.

NON-TECH VERSION: Chip shortage, that affects durable goods (e.g., appliances, cars, etc...) still ahead for years to come.
