Lmao. This one aged like milk.I mean, you can’t walk into a hospital with a weapon nor a courtroom. Notice that we haven’t seen mass shootings at hospitals
Someone was literally shooting up a hospital as he posted that.Lmao. This one aged like milk.
I said I am ok with raising the age to 21. I don't not never have owned an AR15, I have no idea about capacity's of mags. or what limits are already on them, and am not against limits on new ones. I do however come back to the 2nd admendment, which states “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” . The last part of the statement makes it very hard to infringe on individuals rights to bear arms. Change gun laws but first fix the constitution so you can do it.Still waiting for the Pool cleaner to tell us all about magazine capacities between AR-15s and other rifles.
This is how it goes for the likes of him and others who have posted in this thread:
Them: "Thoughts and prayers. We really need to do everything we can to prevent this from happening again."
People with brains: "How about we get rid of things like AR-15s, increase the age to purchase those weapons, and at a bare minimum, keep these devices out of the hands of the mentally ill."
THEM:
And on and on and on it goes.
The Supreme Court has already held that the right to own weapons afforded by the constitution is not absolute. We already restrict felons from owning guns and have age limits in place for owning different types of weapons. And some types of weapons are prohibited to own. So you don’t have to worry about changing the constitution.I said I am ok with raising the age to 21. I don't not never have owned an AR15, I have no idea about capacity's of mags. or what limits are already on them, and am not against limits on new ones. Here are your words since you now have temporary amnesia:I said I am ok with raising the age to 21. The AK15 can shoot 45 bullets per minute, 1 with each pull of the trigger. Any semi auto rifle can do approx the same.
45 per minuteHere are your words since you now have temporary amnesia:
Please do some basic research before you come to the table with something so asinine. You really have no idea what you are talking about...
And FFS, capacity's? admendment??
Let me make this simple for you since you are really having a hard time here: please look up magazine capacities of the AR-15 vs. your standard rifle. And then read and re-read Jeremy's post about the Constitution, ffs.45 per minute
"A semi-automatic like the Bushmaster AR-15 XM15-E2S has a maximum effective rate of fire of 45 rounds per minute, according to its manual."
That being said I have read mods can be done, some legal some not to increase that rate. Yes some laws can be done to control guns and get past the Courts. But if you want big time changes that will really make a difference you have to change the Constitution. These mass murders are horrible, but are dwarfed by the single/double homicides done around the country.
Places like Chicago where 218 already have happened this year and last year 797. Dem politicians don't sound of a peep, because it is a Democratic city and doesn't fit their agenda.
NYC had 498 in 2021, These are rarely even spoken of. Why it isn't good political theater.
It's just wild thinking how people are up in arms about regulations stifling business and growth, to then have those same folks suggest mandating something like this. This is actually a good time for every public area to add armed security and X-ray screening capability. Then when the price of everything increases to compensate we can blame Joe Biden. Win win.
I am ok with both of those things, and think you can likely get them through Scotus review. First part of that is probably not hard, 2nd part is much harder. We don't even know who most of the mentally ill are.Still waiting for the Pool cleaner to tell us all about magazine capacities between AR-15s and other rifles.

That’s because the majority of murders occur in situations outside of public mass shootings where carrying a rifle makes no practical sense. You can’t conceal a rifle. But most mass shootings involve one because the perpetrator has no intention of concealing the weapon and isn’t targeting a single person. They are looking for something that is easier to handle, easier to aim, with a high capacity that can efficiently kill as many people as possible in a small amount of time. Different objective.I am ok with both of those things, and think you can likely get them through Scotus review. First part of that is probably not hard, 2nd part is much harder. Bottom line is politician's don't want to fix problem, Deaths are ok if it gives them a political issue. If it isn't an political talking point issue,(see big city murder rates) it isn't talked about.
3%
of fire arm deaths happen with rifles, which include assault type rifles. You could get rid of all rifles in USA and murder rates drop only slightly.
14 people shot in Philly last night.
Stupid city, they need to tear it all down and redesign it with just one door like a skating rink, amirite @sk8knight[/

GOP in Florida already raised age to 21. As did democrats in NY.multiple shooters with hand guns, at least one with expanded magazine. Have no idea how big.
As for limits, yes SCOTUS has said not absolute, but also have been pretty tough on what they allow politicians to pass. One more time for you educated semi readers above. I have NO issues with increasing age from 18 to 21, nor limiting magazine size. Neither party really wants to address the problem with guns. It is politics as usual in the swamp.
Good, I agree 18 is too young.GOP in Florida already raised age to 21. As did democrats in NY.
Yes, gang shootouts often involve concealable weapons. That doesn’t make them more effective for planning and execution a mass murder event.
lmao the lead/chlorine addled brain is complaining about 18 year olds voting, and can't even quote correctly on a message board.Good, I agree 18 is too young.
Also too young for the Draft and Vote.
If you have 3 home invaders trying to kill you then you are probably 007 and should have more specialized weapons not publicly available. But if not, this guy seemed to do ok with a shotgun. Now am called out on Mag size, I made no comment on that at all. Many states have reduced allowed size, and yes size does matter. I gather some allow very large mags, others around 10, Normal hunting rifles mag loaded are capped at 5. Many tube fed hunting rifles can hold more, with 10 not being unusual, and very much legal.
You idiots are so busy being pissed, you go out of your minds over comments not even made, or suggested.
I will be the first to agree the 30 shot mag is totally not needed, Mag size will always be a tradeoff, You don't want someone killing 15 before he need to load again, but on the other side a homeowner trying to defend against 2 or 3 intruders shouldn't need to reload after 3 to 5 shots. I don't pretend I know what is the ideal size or if there is such a thing. My personal opinion, and it is only that. 7 to 10. That allows for the person in a bad place enough rounds to have a decent chance of getting out of that situation, while limiting a mass murder's shots before reloading.
5 rounds on a hunting rifle makes perfect sense. You are not out there to take out a herd of deer, you are there to take down 1. 5 shots allows you to finish off an injured animal, or in the case of an attack bear, hog or what ever a few extras for the unseen.
I can buy this sentiment... Been thinking the same that our culture has children acting younger for longer... Hell, "children" can stay on parents' insurance until 26.Good, I agree 18 is too young.

I think the better move is likely to close down the cooler. Years ago we could have debate here. With threads only occasionally going off the rails. Do you ever notice how the only people who talk about closing down the Cooler are those who routinely look like fools, say stupid shit, and then get their ass run out of here?
While I tend to agree we baby our kids too much these days, I do fear the world my young kids will inherit. It's very easy to sit back and say "These kids are too lazy to buy homes--that's why they stay in apartments. It's too easy for them to stay on mom and dad's insurance--they should just afford it. They buy lots of gratuitous shit, etc." Many have a hard time affording the same "luxuries" these days that we didn't think twice about.I can buy this sentiment... I don't know who Tomi Lahren is, but I don't put blame on the kids as much as I do on parents, commercial entities, and political correctness culture. While I tend to agree we baby our kids too much these days, I do fear the world my young kids will inherit. Reminds me of Fox News host Tomi Lahren, who a few years back was railing on and on and on about this very matter and how lazy these woke kids are---only to find out she was still on her's parents' insurance...as a Fox News host.
I don't know what world you grew up in, but it sure wasn't mine. I went to work at 15, and worked part time to full time all the way through High school. I Had a car starting in 10th grade that I paid cash for, and had insurance that I paid for. I bought and paid for my own clothes from 8th grade on. If I went to the movies, bowling, football game, I paid for it. I didn't have Luxuries" unless I worked for them and paid for them. I worked as a dishwasher, cook, head cook, commercial fisherman, picking oranges out in the groves, not to say anything of helping my father do body work and paint cars on weekends to help pay household bills, or have 4 to 6 regular lawns that I maintained for others. I didn't borrow nor have someone else pay for my 2 years in college. The fact you were brought up in an upper middle class situation where you were given the luxuries doesn't mean most people didn't have to think about it.While I tend to agree we baby our kids too much these days, I do fear the world my young kids will inherit. Congrats. So did I. As usual, you can’t read. I simply said I feared for how much shit cost.I don't know what world you grew up in, but it sure wasn't mine. Exactly. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.Do you ever notice how the only people who talk about closing down the Cooler are those who routinely look like fools, say stupid shit, and then get their ass run out of here?
Once upon a time, a needy kid could get financial aid in the form of grants and gift aid order to go to college. Then, colleges and universities began putting together 'affordable' aid packages replacing grants and gift aid with student loans. Today's young adults (ages 25 to 34) carry over $500 billion in loan debt, breaking down to between $10,000 to $40,000 per person. As Joe says, it's very easy to sit back and say, 'these kids are too lazy to buy home.' The fact is, the majority of them have been carrying a 'home mortgage worth' of debt since they graduated -- or left -- college.I do fear the world my young kids will inherit. Are you guys for cancelling debts? ...What about the kids that paid them off, should they be reimbursed?Exactly. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Having a thick skin is a requirement if you're going to post in a forum like this one. Right or wrong, getting blasted for your takes is the way this game is played

We are getting quite off topic here, lol. This was "another school shooting" thread. But since you asked nicely...Are you guys for cancelling debts? ...What about the kids that paid them off, should they be reimbursed?
Going back and earlier in the process, what caused kids to attend such expensive schools? ...where were the parents/guardians in this process? Aren't they required to sign as well? ...I don't blame kids, as much as the adults that should be influencing their development as decision makers. They should be held liable.
Thoughts?

Haha... Universal health care, education, transportation, groceries, baby sitting, yard service, ...Why not? ...we're the richest country in the world for a reason.Biden needs to cancel all debts. Student loans, credit cards, mortgages, etc. Imagine how good we would do with no debts. Let the rich pay for it all.
Agree...and how far back do you go?We are getting quite off topic here, lol. This was "another school shooting" thread. But since you asked nicely...
I am not sure how you can cancel student loans for one and then not turn around and totally reimburse or partially credit someone who never missed a payment and has now paid in full.
The rich boomers who benefitted from relatively low tuition costs and an job environment that didn’t necessitate a degree? I mean since 1980 tuition costs have outpaced CPI by 1000% but it’s out of line to suggest recent graduates have had an unequal financial burden to prior generations.Biden needs to cancel all debts. If you are trolling, 10/10. Good job, good effort. The way to stop it is making the rich pay for it. 95% upper income tax. Create free Healthcare, college, and universal basic income. Those making over 100k should pay about 50% tax. Those at 50k or under get federal credits until they net at least 50k.
Offer free housing to those that can't afford it too.
