I don't know the methodology for the data reporting. But you can scroll back through their FB page and see a bunch of daily updates (during Omicron and Delta). What I'm confident of is that the topline number (133 in this case) is how many beds they have occupied by someone who has tested positive for COVID. For reference, it's roughly a 1,000 bed system. At the Delta peak, they reported ~330 in-patients.So you have to understand the underlying raw data, which cannot be done here. Generally any numbers like that are almost a lock to be propaganda.
Effectively, they are saying 1 out of 133 people are hospitalized. There are a few explanations:
* the 'unvaccinated' here are an unusual number children in the hospital WITH covid.
* The admin is cooking the books, or 'accidentally misrepresented the data. When they say Health First has 133 COVID-19-positive inpatients; 99.2% of whom are unvaccinated. Do they really mean, we have 133 covid positive patients today, and OVER THE LAST YEAR 99.2% are unvaccinated. Even that is BS, but I would imagine that's what they are trying to say. It's one of the more common propaganda tricks.
Now it's no big secret that we have been shall we say 'cautious' lately with in-patient covid care for children. Kid comes in with a runny nose. Gets a covid test. In patient. Or worse, kid has RSV and really is sick. Boom covid positive (both false and real).
Follow the $$$. In-patient covid care is heavily incentivized. Hence, a kid with a sniffle a nurse can watch over 12 of them at a time. Like an expensive baby sitter.

Multiple times this has lead to stopping various types of elective or non-emergent procedures. Here are the status updates over Delta/Omicron on this. As recent as early January, they put a 2 week pause on no-emergent procedures due to the resource demand of COVID in-patients. If you *really* think hospitals are admitting barely sick pediatric patients so nurses can babysit while specialists are forced to due COVID rounds instead of $$$ producing elective procedures, then you really don't understand the finances of a hospital system. During the initial wave of COVID, we didn't get hit hard in Brevard at all. The result was a hospital system that lost a shit-ton of money. No elective procedures, very few COVID patients. Hospital systems nation-wide have lost a shit-ton of money due to COVID even after federal aid.
Meanwhile, the APA currently has pediatric hospitalizations at 1.6-4.7% of total hospitalizations across the 24 states they have data from. So I totally agree with you - follow the money. Will there be coding biases to maximize revenue? Sure.
And the more strained the system gets, the harder it is to get a bed. Back before Delta, I think COVID in-patients was down to under 20. So sure, at that time it would have been easier for a "kid with sniffles" to get a bed. When COVID is occupying 15% of your beds, you're sending people home that would otherwise get admitted. Yet your argument is that hospitals are admitting people with sniffles to generate excess cash while resources are strained and elective procedures are cancelled. It's illogical on its face.
OK so here's first-hand info interpreted by someone who's non-clinical. Both admissions and treatment protocol are based on classification of severity, vax status is not obviously noted anywhere. It seems like 02 levels is what they really care about.

During the Delta surge, HealthFirst actually shut down it's pediatric wing to get more COVID resources and were sending all non-emergent pediatric patients to Advent in Orlando.
And the only proven constant is that if you have even a single shot of any available vaccine, mRNA generating, Adenovirus mRNA delivery, even direct (traditional), proven safe, vaccines (which aren't available in the US), regardless of date, regardless of completion of vaccination (fully vaxed, or not), among the general population ...
You won't need any oxygen supplement if you are admitted to the hospital with a SARS CoV, or acquire in the hospital for that matter.
That has come out in report after report, study after study, interview after interview, from doctor anecdotal to peer-reviewed study. That's basically the only, guaranteed benefit from having a single shot or ... of course, actual recovery (Natural Immunity).
Nothing else is consistent with anything when it comes to vaccines, although recovery (Natural Immunity) does provide sterialization and IgA antibodies, even though the antibody tests or viral load tests are quite minimal ... and utterly useless for evaluating.
In any case ... I wish that was reported, and not all the other 'narrative.'
It's starting to 'get ugly,' as the major, top level medical experts and their journals are openly rebelling, en masse (fall 2021 was just the beginning) against the US Mass and Social Media, especially Big Tech, for censoring them. They moved in with their mom in january and things have been pretty difficult between us since then. I'm against Pharma controlling what is available. We have a traditional, yeast-based, non-mRNA SARS-CoV-2 vaccine that would be 100-10,000x safer (depending on age) for those under 40, and especially kids under 16.
