Covid deaths pushing toward 5k per day.

Is Covid-19 worse than the flu?

Democrat states are an absolute sh!t show with cases. Maybe the Republican states shower more to get that "Rona" off.

I still don't buy the stats in some states. Seminole county as an example is around a 1% death clip. Why are democratic states dying a higher percentage? Maybe fudging covid deaths?
People take time to die. 3 weeks ago Seminole County only had a quarter of the cases they have now.

Possibly...I'm going to start talking a look at numbers soon. The stats don't lie once we get a bit more data and a few more weeks in. Looks like the hospitalization rate is around 20%. So 80% are staying home to self isolate... hopefully. Seminole county
When their are few cases the rate is lower. Over time it grows because new cases are added but people are dying that are in the backlog of cases that have already been counted in the denominator and weren’t yet in the numerator. This site shows CFR in the US over time and it’s gone from around 1% to over 5%

If you were paying attention you would know that this hits urban areas and minorities very hard. Those are typically Democrat voters. Has nothing to do with who did what it's just that it spreads easier and minorities have a higher risk.

It isnt states so much as it is cities. Obviously a virus is going to spread easier in places with higher concentrations of people. NYC is the obvious example where people tend to live in apt buildings instead of houses, and where the primary transporation is public transportation. It has nothing to do with Democrat or Republicans.

Yeah...we don't have any urban areas in the southern states? What? I didn't know the virus was racist attacking a specific race?

Who is responsible for this behavior? This was Easter.

The South has urban areas but it has nothing comparable to NYC.

Yet Deblasio took forever to close the schools down and the same with the subway system which is probably on Cuomo. That’s why everyone is to blame. Not a Trump Rally or Nancy Pelosi and her party in Chinatown comments

Who blamed it on a Trump rally?

Trump has the most information and he gets it first. It's his job to filter it down to Deblasio/Cuomo/etc.

Hahahahaha. Cuomo didn’t know it wasn’t a good idea to stop subways as of 2 weeks ago? Are they still running?

Same thing with the schools. How many were dead by then. He needed Trump to tell him?

Jeremy said there was one in February 28th and March 2nd. Hindsight arguments aren’t for me

It probably wasnt very responsible to have rallies at that time, for multiple reasons, but the rallies obviously didnt cause the outbreak, and I havent seen anyone say they did.

Did Trump stop flights? Personally, I don't know if it's a good idea or not to stop transportation but all of them (buses, trains, planes) are still running.

It’s part of the blame game train. Hindsight blame

Your hindsight argument is a cop out. You are essentially saying we shouldnt hold our leaders accountable for mistakes. Although interestingly enough, you dont appear to give Cuomo or DeBlasio the benefit of hindsight.

They are running but dont have anywhere near the crowds they normally do. Of course in NYC if you completely shut them down then a lot of people arent going to be able to get things they need, since so many people dont have cars, so it is a tough situation.

In other words a “partial” lockdown

They acted much later in an extreme hotspot. In reality, they still haven’t reacted. They are still running subways and only recently have they enforced masks in public. Only NOW are they asking CITIZENS to report social distancing violations. Doesn’t sound like hindsight applies

Saying that it should have happened in January and February is ridiculous

People have to be able to get to places to buy food, get meds, etc etc.
I used to live there. You don’t need a subway for all of that. Walk. New Yorkers are stubborn. Another thing that will be talked about in retrospective studies. Packed subways? Come on

SO why hasnt Trump shut things down then? You are trying to have this both ways. I think you can criticize DeBlasio and Cuomo for some things by all means, but I dont know why you think Trump is above criticism.

Honest question. If the economy does essentially open back up at Trump's pushing, and this gets worse, will you hold him accountable at that point? I have a feeling I know the answer but would still like to hear it.

Because Cuomo flat out refused. This has been discussed in great detail

That’s a complicated question. It’s SUPPOSED TO BE Controlled and up to individual state governors

So basically the president has no responsibility in a pandemic?
Less responsibility than he’s getting criticized for. Certainly in the Early stages he had to follow the advice of medical people like Dr. Fauci and he did. Now it’s a group effort

If we have to solely rely on any president for this MEDICAL problem, we are in trouble. Obviously now he has to play a larger role. Back in January? Come on. You follow your advisors

You are all over the place with your arguments. You defend Trump for his response because "how many cases and deaths were in the US", but then criticize everyone else for not shutting things down sooner.

Getting out in front of it would have been a much better situation.
Ideally now. Hindsight. We are not shutting down the country of 329 million and the number 1 economy for a handful of cases and 0-1 deaths

Not at all. You are comparing Trumps response in February to the NYC responses as of a few weeks ago. Big difference
