The big 12 is trying to finish up jerking off to UCF's "potential" before they invite them. The SEC is now reportedly interested in bringing in the new college football powerhouse.
I don't know about the Texas dude but I hope the Big 12 invites Memphis and Cincinnati to get to 12 and be done with expansion. Have a 7 team playoff with the last spot guaranteed to the top G5 so that at least UCF can relish the role as little sister aka cinderella. Hey it would beat the current system of having their regular season mean nothing.

TCU only had one BCS bowl win when they were invited to the B12. And their attendance average was lower than UCF's current attendance average.
What G5 has? Boise ... sometimes. That's pretty much it. But Boise was playing I-A/FBS when UCF was I-AA/FCS and even Div-II.
So ... what P5 program is the Big 12 going to add since no G5 qualifies?

Assuming Cincinnati ends up in the Big 12, If we have to add another school from the AAC, I would rather it be UConn. At least it is the flagship university of the state. UConn doesn't have much of a football program per se, but heck, they beat Houston last year.
UConn men and women's basketball would be exceptional. The Big 12 is already the best men's basketball league in the country this year.

As far as "flagship," UCF has been getting the most national press on its diversity, focus on access and many other things.

So what if UCF was better in 2013? Like I said, every argument for UCF comes back to one single season. If UCF could put together more of those kinds of seasons then we can talk but when they follow that up with an 0-12 season it goes to waste.
