Jan 6th

Other stuff has come out too. On January 5th Trump requested the national guard and the House Sgt of Arms denied it. That guy reports to The Speaker.
Total Trump bullsh!t that was debunked ages ago.

I love how some people try to play the 'both sides are equally bad' game as a way of defusing their tribe of any responsibility for what happened on Jan. 6th.

False data? I'm simply pointing out the majority are vaccinated in 2021 and we still have more deaths than 2020. Some areas like NYC are forcing vaccinations and still at peak levels.
Cubs' thread is about January 6th. We don't need yet another Covid thread.

^^^^^^^Pavlovian screeching. When someone asks you to make a sandwich at Wawa, do you also bring up how the vaccine doesn't work?

You not paying attention doesnt make me a crazy person. What happened January 6th was unprecedented in this country, and you literally had people calling it a normal tourist visit. Plus, I mean, many of them tried to keep him as president this year despite losing. Do you pay attention to anything?
Who said it was just a normal tourist visit?

Stop saying shit that isn’t true.

So they “tried” to keep him as president… through what, legal challenges? Did any of them even come close to winning those legal challenges?

And no, retards going into the Capitol and rioting doesn’t count as trying to keep him as president, because it doesn’t stand any chance of working.

Wrong thread. I surrendered, remember? You won that argument. It goes without saying that nobody here was ever stupid enough to believe Trump's assertions that the election was stolen. Given that, maybe you could answer the questions I posed back on Page 1 of THIS thread:

What exactly was the Trump Administration trying to do in the aftermath of the election? What the heck was Trump's 'Stop the Steal' rally on Capitol Hill on January 6th all about?
So if it’s the wrong thread, where did I say that? I didn’t bring up that exchange in this thread and tag me in it… you did.

What was he trying to do? He was trying to sue to stay in office. Kinda like Gore was suing to try to win in 2000.

What was stop the steal? A guy with a massive ego who likes standing in front of a crowd that loves him? He still does that shit now because he likes the attention.

My point wasn’t to re-debate your dumbass anti-vaxx stance.

My point was to state the obvious - there is a direct correlation between people who insanely think the election was stolen and people who believe insane, false, stupid stuff about COVID.

You being uninformed doesnt make me batshit crazy or mean I am saying things that arent true. This was a pretty big headline several months ago. Sorry you missed it.

You might want to look at context.

“Watching the TV footage of those who entered the Capitol and walked through Statuary Hall showed people in an orderly fashion staying between the stanchions and ropes, taking videos, pictures,” Clyde said. “You know, if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from January the 6th, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit.”

That’s a far cry from saying the whole thing was just a normal tourist visit, as you suggest was said.

Give me a break, he was trying to downplay the whole thing. Nothing about that day looked like a normal tourist visit.

Of course he was downplaying. But he didn’t say that January 6th was a normal tourist visit. To claim he did is disingenuous.

No, as you pointed out, he said it was LIKE a normal tourist visit if you didn't know better. Ignore the blatant inference and score one for Knight In TN. :)

Sooooo the 'Stop the Steal' was about "a guy" who "does shit" because he "likes the attention"? LOL That's like describing the Manson murders as being about "some girls" who "did shit" for "a guy" because they loved him a lot.

And THIS GEM
came from a poster who blasts others for being---get this---disingenuous. I kid you not. :)

He said specifically that TV footage of people in Statuary Hall showed them staying within ropes, taking pictures. Not that “January 6” was like a normal tourist day. Retard.

And yes, you’re welcome to believe Trump was sending a crowd of people to the Capitol because he actually thought they would stop the election results and keep him in power if you’re that stupid. He was holding a rally because he loves attention. There was never any chance that a few thousand nobodies could keep him in office. If you think they could, you’re dumber than I thought. And I think you’re extremely dumb already.

If you have been keeping up with this, you would realize it was far more than Trump wanting attention. They had actual war rooms set up in a hotel, they had a powerpoint discussing plans to throw out the election, he was calling senators during the riot to delay the vote, etc etc.

THe downplaying it is the issue. There was no reason what so ever for his comments other than to try and give the illusion it was no big deal. Thats like saying, "well, the 9/11 hijackers boarded peacefully, maybe we should focus more on that".

Exactly.

You've gotta love the way Trumpsters try to downplay everything about Jan. 6th.

We're told the fact that there was NO WAY a 'few thousand nobodies' at the Capitol could keep Congress from certifying the EC results should mean 'no harm, no foul.' Clearly it wasn't something serious, right? ;)

Just like, there was NO WAY Trump trying to strong-arm Georgia's SOC to 'find him 10,000' votes would have ultimately swayed the national election outcome...
or
there was NO WAY that Trump trying to strong-arm Mike Pence to disqualify the EC votes in all the key battle-ground states he lost would have changed the final result...

But they were all designed to screw up the peaceful transition of power and make everything 'all about 'the usual' left/right politics.' It was good enough in the past for Trump to escape the consequences of damning evidence in the Mueller Report and for Trump to avoid being found guilty in two impeachment trials (all of this is less that four years in office.)

When you retards compare 1/6 to 9/11, everyone laughs at you.

So if it’s so bad, those guys will end up in prison or worse, right?

I mean, it’s not like Biden’s administration will just give them a pass, is it?

I mean, sure. Except for this:

By all rights, they damn well should.

The House Committee reviewing all of the circumstances surrounding the insurrection are certainly coming up with some incriminating evidence.

It remains to be seen how this all plays out because Democrats tend to be pussies, but the kind of bullsh!t that went on following Trump's defeat cannot go unpunished if we expect to maintain our democracy.

What is the legislative goal and justification for this investigation?

It's a legitimate question. Congress is allowed to investigate when it can influence or give guidance on a legislative action. Anything short of that falls on the executive branch, so what exactly is the purpose of this investigation from a legislative point?

Who is Ray Epps? That's got to be one of the weirdest stories involved in this whole deal.

He just wanted to post a snarky picture and get approval from mikes because he has a crush on him.
LMAO, Knight In TN joins Crazyhole in wondering what justification Congress could possibly have for investigating the Jan. 6th riot. It's apparently one big giant mystery to these two.

I mean if you didn't know better, I hear can find TV footage of that day that looked like a normal tourist visit, right boys? 🤣

Why do you keep digging? You have no answer to the question of what legislative purpose or goal does this serve, so just walk away.

So you want to me to explain the obvious so you can respond with a right-wing nutjob blog about THE REAL PURPOSE of the Select Committee? Here, I'll save you a post:

From Townhall: "Have you heard the latest news from the third world? A political party won a recent election and immediately appointed a congressional committee to conspire with the new president to file criminal charges against the members of the previous administration.

While this unfortunate country spirals downward from historic levels of inflation, waves of criminal violence, out of control government spending and debt, floods of illegal migrants, media distortions and propaganda, and general societal decline, the new government is attempting to distract from real problems by pursuing political retribution against its opposition."

This is the kind of garbage we've all come to expect from the Trumpster crowd.

I was fine with having a committee, But this one was designed to do what it did. Pelosi made damn sure from day one only people on the committee had an agenda. This was never a search for facts, it was a search to find the desired result.
