New HC will be named SATURDAY Knight!!!

I understand people loved the Frost years; I did too. Had some unbelievable times in the Bounce House those years. But you have to realize he hit us at the absolute perfect time. We had some unbelievable talent and a once-in-a-lifetime QB in Milton. This team doesn’t have anywhere near that level of over-achievers now. He’s been out of the game for 2 years and nobody has come calling. Now we do? Seriously? What does that tell the football elites about our program? It says we’re not serious about joining the Big Dogs! Sorry, but that’s how it will be viewed and it will hurt us.

Yikes pretty disappointing group there. If I had to choose one I’d take Frost
The guy won us a Natty, and came back to coach UCF in the bowl win over Gus coached Auburn after accepting the NU job. He loved it here and the only school that could lure him away was his Alma mater. His players loved him and he turned UCF around in 2 years. I say he deserves another shot, he’s got a chip on his shoulder and brings that “us against the world” mentality. Let the Frost era part deux commence. GKCO!

Not if we win. I don’t know if Frost is the right move. But we shouldn’t be making this decision based on the optics. Gus was a great hire on paper. In actuality it was a terrible hire because he didn’t win. Winning cures all.

And he loved us so much he wore a Nebraska tie to the pregame press conference and repeatedly has dissed the National Championship. The man is desperate to get back into the game and we’re the only major school calling him. What’s wrong with that picture?!?

With Sumrall and Chadwell I feel like we be 1 to 2 years rental with no intention of being around for the long haul, Odom I am not sold on, and Kinne not sure as he is a Gus understudy.
Prime and Riley are pipdreams.
Frost is low risk high reward, he is a players coach. He would bring excitement back to the program that left about midway thru the Colorado game. And he can be gotten without a buyout.
People make mistakes in life no one on this board is perfect.
Though the age difference between Frost and Malzahn is large, the issue I would have with Frost is that he may go chasing the next KZ just like Malzahn was looking for the next Cam Newton.

That was absolutely the wrong move 100%. Listen if I was at a G5 and won big and my P5 Alma matter dream job offered me, I’d take it right away. I hope I would’ve handled it differently, but people make mistakes. However that was his dream job and failed. I think UCF is his dream job now and if he DID have success here I think he would stay realizing just how special “this place” actually is.

Could be absolutely wrong, just my thoughts

What part of he came back after accepting the NU job do you fail to comprehend. Coaches don’t do that ish. If he doesn’t come back and coach the Peach bowl I don’t think we win the Biggest game in UCF history. Whether he dissed our NC is immaterial, it’s in the official NCAA record books thanks in large part to him.

He had a good enough eye to recognize the talent level of Milton, he brought him on board to UCF, let him find the next gen of Milton. I see flashes of Milton in Rizk even though he digressed his last two games under Gus’ astute qb tutelage, maybe Frost can develop Rizk like he did Milton. Remember Milton’s debut was hardly auspicious. Frost actually helped develop Milton.

Not to mention Marcus Mariota when he was at Oregon

Nobody knows WHAT his true motivation is in 2024. Ran a program into the ground and threw his family to the side.....former players are praising the 2017 Frost, but none of them know him today.

What Frost did for us in 2017 has absolutely zero relevance to what is going on with our program today. We are now in a P4 conference and trying to remain relevant to big time college football. We need the absolute best coach and staff we can get. I just cannot believe that would be by trying to recapture a time in our history where everything happened to fall perfectly into place. There is no possible way you can honestly expect that same thing to happen if he’s rehired. And I find it preposterous that everybody is saying we should hire him back because he came back to coach the Peach Bowl. That was really great, and I was impressed he did it. That means he would now be the best man for the job? He has been out of coaching for two years, has zero team to bring with him, no assistant coaches to bring with him, and has no contacts to work with. How is that such a great benefit to us because he was a great guy and came back to coach bowl game? Really?

He made his choice to leave, then distanced himself from us.....not worth all the risk

Best man for the job? How about the best man for the job that has an interest in coaching UCF? You think he lost all contacts to “work with?” Why, did he lose his phone and forget his previous contacts, some sort of situational amnesia? You may be pissed he left for NU, but the fact that he came back to coach in the Peach bowl shows a level of connection to our program that few other coaches who accept new jobs would have demonstrated. No, that doesn’t mean we should hire him. I’m analyzing this under a totality of the circumstances standard. He apparently has interest in returning to UCF, I don’t see Chadwell, Sumeral et al… jumping at the opportunity and times is burning during this recruiting cycle, and we are currently a rudderless ship. Frost hasn’t Been out of coaching for two years, he’s in the NFL as an analyst with the Rams. Who do you suggest that has an interest in coaching at UCF would be better, and why?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and feelings about the Frost situation.

But he didn't leave UCF like Brian Kelly did Cincinnati in 2009 dude took everything and never looked back when he went to Notre Dame that team should've competed with Florida in that Sugar Bowl but was broken due to lack of preparation.

Can’t decide if some of y'all are against the hiring on a professional level or factor in personal indiscretions that have nothing to do with productbon the field. I mean didn't Arkansas rehire Bo Pelini years after he had a motorcycle crash with an Arkansas staffer that he was having an affair with that cost him a job the first time? And didn't Oleary get fired before coaching a game at Notre Dame for inaccuracies on his resume and has a statue now built at UCF?

Lots of opinions here based on nothing but emotion. I owned a business and have had a few situations where employees left and then wanted to come back. Some I rehired, some I did not. A lot of it had to do with the interview and what they had to say, the reason they left, the reason they wanted to return. None on here are part of the interview process so we have zero clue as to what Scott Frost’s intentions or expectations are. With that said, I have seen first hand some of his behavior that was a red flag, and this was during his undefeated season. Hopefully that stuff is in the past and hopefully it’s asked of him.
From the lack of communication coming out, seems we are waiting on a chip or two to fall before we get our guy. Sadly that’s the pecking order we are at at this point

"By the end of the weekend."

Marc Daniels just said this on his radio show (Fri morning 9am).

Scott Frost question?

Marc says May or May not, but Scott is interested.

Barry Odom?

UCF is not using a coaching searching service. AD is doing all of it.
Prez Alex Cartwright connection. Hired Josh Heupel at Mizzou. Barry name is in the mix other places.
Personality fits TMO. Builder, defense, p4 experience. Interesting name. If Odom wins tonight is he leaving UNLV?
Marc says not saying is or is not a candidate.
Bianchi the donkey, I know nothing, but not Odom, Cartwright fired him at Mizzou. Pretty strange.
Marc: TMO has a list and it is a short list. Tomorrow is significant day to make decision. Have coach before portal opens. Monday.
Today is a significant day. *hint hint*

Back to Scott Frost?

Bianchi likes SF. Unbelievable 2017. Mckenzi Milton to return. Just speculating. Love SF, but maybe not best candidate.
Marc: Scott has done his part to show his intention to come back. Presents a compiling argument. Up to TMo and Cartwright that has no connection with SF. SF did present to UCF to come back.

Me: thinking and speculating. Odom as HC and SF as OC? Why not. Make it happen. 3 cups of coffee so don't quote me on that.

I'll keep listening and report anything important mentioned.
