Yes and no. Totally agree with what you’re implying. But the buck stops with TMo. So if Frost (or whoever he hires) is a bust, it’s ultimately on him.

Absolutely is, but if influential alumni and donors are calling for the hire he can tell his superiors I am trying to make those that fund the program happy. If he hires someone else that no one is pulling for then its 100% on him. Either way its his decision, but he at least gets to have a built in excuse to grasp on to.
Considering what seems to be the final candidates. Could not imagine what the situation would be if UCF was not part of the B12 and had to pay for Malzahn buyout.

You are correct Gwoz hiring Odom who the fanbase barely knows who doesn’t have much enthusiasm and he flops is way worse than risking Frost. He could actually spin Frost not working, he can’t do that w Odom or any other choice

I understand Odom if he brings along his OC (not a given because he's under consideration for other openings)....plus Odom has other staff, players and recruits who he may be able to bring. What exactly does Frost bring with him besides history and baggage? Great history yes, but we were G5 and definitely played an inferior schedule. What/who else does Scott bring with him?

Hearing that we offered both Sumrall and Chadwell and were turned down by both. I’m guessing because Sumrall could get a SEC job in a year and Chadwell is already paid insanely well with small school expectations at Liberty. But it’s not a good look. Hoping I’m wrong on this and that Sumrall may get on board after championship game.
Sumrall could have guilt leaving Tulane after one season which I can respect

When you offer a HC, you let them pick the staff. If not, don’t expect them to take job. Heupel was forced to take Shannon and it made him look bad. You hire your people, no one else’s.

I think if he was coming we would already have a definite answer. He's not coaching a championship or bowl game or anything like that. I think they are waiting to see if they can get someone else or already have someone else but are not announcing until after playoffs.

Just sign Frost already. Give him no buyout. If you don’t like what you’ve seen in a years time fire him and get the guy you want. Odom is a meh hire. Sumrall and Chadwell are out. Doesn’t seem like any of the exciting coordinators are even being considered. So let’s get this over with.

I’m at this point too. As much as I think bringing Frost back isn’t the best choice, so long as we’ve got a cheap escape path in his contract, let’s get this over with…
