My point had nothing to do with pointing fingers. It's the fact that the President of the United States said he believes Kim Jung un when he said he wasn't involved in what happened to this U.S. citizen.
If you believe that, you probably also believe that the Saudi Prince had nothing to do with Washington Post writer, Jamal Khashoggi's death.
I wouldn't begin to speak for this president and have no interest in defending him, but it is possible that what he said is true and the actions against Warmbier were unknown to Kim Jong Un. I have my doubts, but then again I have never met the guy or understand the dynamic thats in place within their government. I have little doubt that government officers do things that are horrendous that Trump is not and never will be aware of and that same standard should be applied to every president, foreign or domestic. This case is markedly different than Khashoggi or even the brother of Un who was assassinated because clearly in those 2 cases the top official was involved. Should I really accept out of hand that Un was involved in the treatment of a kid that was arrested for petty theft?
