North Korea suspends nuclear and missile testing

My point had nothing to do with pointing fingers. It's the fact that the President of the United States said he believes Kim Jung un when he said he wasn't involved in what happened to this U.S. citizen.

If you believe that, you probably also believe that the Saudi Prince had nothing to do with Washington Post writer, Jamal Khashoggi's death.

I wouldn't begin to speak for this president and have no interest in defending him, but it is possible that what he said is true and the actions against Warmbier were unknown to Kim Jong Un. I have my doubts, but then again I have never met the guy or understand the dynamic thats in place within their government. I have little doubt that government officers do things that are horrendous that Trump is not and never will be aware of and that same standard should be applied to every president, foreign or domestic. This case is markedly different than Khashoggi or even the brother of Un who was assassinated because clearly in those 2 cases the top official was involved. Should I really accept out of hand that Un was involved in the treatment of a kid that was arrested for petty theft?

Oh holy shit this is amazing.

Trump asked Japan prime minister Abe to nominate him for a Nobel Prize and Abe actually did!

Trump is thirsty af for a Nobel Prize that he hasn't earned. What an absolute wet pancake we have for a president. Just amazing, imagine asking someone to nominate you for an award.
absolute joke

Trump has already achieved more progress w/ NK in 2 years than any of our past Presidents achieved in decades. They've completely stopped testing nuclear warheads, they've stopped shooting long range missiles over Japan's coast, the rhetoric and anti-American propaganda has been almost eliminated, and relations with South Korea are becoming more normalized than they have in years and years.

But meh. Must feed muh TDS so must whine and complain. Wahh!! Trump meanie!!

Exactly.

Lower taxes, cracking down on immigration/crime/costs, better trade deals with China, best relations with NK since who knows when, etc.

If it wasn’t for the democrats blocking the wall and the Russia collusion hearings, we would be putting him on Mount Rushmore

Democrats are the only reason that we don’t have great relations with Russia too

Wow. Tell that to the parents of Otto Warmbier.

Democrats are the only reason that we don’t have great relations with Russia too
Really??!!?!?

There MIGHT be a few more problems with our ability to embrace the 'new' Russia besides those pesky Democrats. A few reasons that come to mind:
  • Russia's Putin Murdering his Enemies. The list of people suspected murdered on orders from the Russian leader or people close to him is lengthy. Deadly poisons appear to be his weapon of choice.
  • Russia Imprisoning Dissenters. According to a list from Russian human-rights group, Memorial, there are over 100 people held in Russian prisons for their political beliefs.
  • Russia occupying Foreign Territory. Annexing Crimea and sponsoring rebels in eastern Ukraine.
  • Quashing Opposition. It's just a coincidence that Putin has been running the country for nearly 20 years.
  • Abetting some of the World's worst Bloodshed. Putin has supported the murderous regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, in what has become the deadliest war of the 21st century so far.
  • Russian Hacking. Let's not forget those wonderful Russians who used social media to create stories like the one where Clinton ran a child pornography ring out of a DC pizza place.
  • Assange and Wikileaks. And we've only begun to touch the surface of the shenanigans of the Russian-backs Wikileaks and its role in colluding with the Trump Administration in the 2016 elections.

You’re not that naive to think that Russia has been the choirboy of nations until 2016, right?

Howabout since they existed

Trump was poised to try to extend an olive branch until the Democrats snatched it and broke it in half

One death to save thousands more.

Where the hell did THAT come from??!??! Pray tell, how did Warmbier's death 'save' thousands more?

Ever hear of American Exceptionalism?
I could have sworn -- at least until Trump -- that our country stood for a set of ideals regarding democracy and personal freedom. Why extend an olive branch to a murderous regime where there is documented evidence they attacked US??? At best, they infiltrated our social media in an effort to further polarize the electorate. And at worst, they swayed the election to get a puppet of Putin's elected.

Superpowers need to get along so that civilization isn’t destroyed by nuclear war

What stakes are higher than that?

By calling them out on it and his regime’s torturing ways at the same time that we were threatening them with fire and fury. Trump exposed it to the world during an address to the nation. No details left out. Parents in attendance

To show NK that we aren’t pussies and we will annihilate them if they keep up this BS

What followed? Respect, talks, return of remains, no more nuclear tests, and return of hostages

So...you actually don't give a sh*t that they tried???? :flushed:
I do. See.., the thing with that is that other countries have been trying to sway elections for decades. It just hasn’t been as direct through social media or computers because that didn’t exist

I don’t have direct examples, but it’s out there

Wouldn't the natural reaction to be say, "Hey Russia, we know what you tried to do and there will be consequences!"

Instead we throw out the olive branch to them. Weird. I wonder why?

So.., I assume you are implying that Trump
extended an olive branch because Russia tried to help get him elected in an upset election.

My answer to that is what would another newly elected president do?

Trump wants to be friendly with Russia, but he wants them to respect us. He’s a new president
He’s not presidential. Can’t fault him for wanting to try and start fresh with a super power.

He’s been pretty hard on China trade deals, but they respect us more than ever. He’s owning them right now. He has China by the balls

Notice that Russian jets haven’t been flying 10 feet from our planes and ships lately

Trump told them to cut that crap out or else

Anyway.., nice chatting with you. At least you’re arguing with me and not trashing me as a MAGA hat wearing, racist, USF fan, which I am not any of

Those posters have lost any argument before it even started

I’m clearly a Trump voter and as of today I will vote again for him.

I’m not scared to say that. As you know there is a huge silent majority of voters out there. The dark, dirty little secret

Just maybe not on this board and in Orlando in general as much.

This is a Republican State, but a Democratic or just anti-Trump board for the most part.

Maybe because it’s a college educated board.
However, a lot of this country’s voters are just regular hard working people. They voted for Trump.

Why? Because they are tired of the political BS and nothing ever getting done. The voice of regular Americans just never gets heard

As you probably know, most Americans do not hold a college degree. Especially a B.S. or higher

I respect your position. But for the life of me, I can't understand why you believe Trump is "the voice of regular Americans" that just never gets heard.

When it comes to that grand tax cut last year, what happened to all the additional money that was going to show up in the wages of average worker's?

And if that weren't enough, did you know that Trump cut the average pay of workers when his Labor Department repealed overtime pay. This results in $1.2 billion in lost wages every year.

Trump and the Republican Congress also repealed a rule that required federal contractors with long histories of wage theft, safety violations and employment discrimination to mend their ways in order to receive federal contacts.

But I must have overlooked all the good stuff he's done for you. Since I'm sick and tired of the political BS too, I'd love a new perspective. I'd appreciate if if you would share Trump's 'no BS' accomplishments on behalf of the average working man with us.

Why would anyone waste time debating anything with you given that you’re now a long documented liar and delusional poster?

Here's a thought: Maybe other posters enjoy actual DEBATES. Wild isn't it?

Apparently not everybody here gets their jollies behaving like a little toadie troll.

i dont remember shookster talking this much about a political prisoners in nk while obama was president. probably because obama just left them there.

You're right, Wayne! I wasn't posting here then. :p

It's remarkable how many obsessive lefties found their way back to this board once Trump was elected. Even those who whined about never returning again somehow have stuck around and are now the biggest leftie trolls, a few of which were so deranged that they've gone on ignore.

For the record, this "obsessive leftie" has been posting on board's like this one for over 16 years. Unfortunately, a year or so ago, my original board on Scout.com (it was called The Soapbox) got the axe. A few months later, my old adversary, Crazyhole, clued me in on the existence of this place.

Speaking of Crazy, he and I have been going at each other nonstop for years. But I consider him a friend. Weird, right?

Is it weird that your friends include random message board posters that you refer to as "Crazy"? Yes, a bit.

I don't know if this is a shot at him or at me, but I can say that I also consider shukster a friend and he's proven himself to be a pretty intelligent and successful guy.

You're still a shit-tier poster. But was I right about this place? FC is just like Wally, 85 is just like Duke.

Do you guys actually know eachother? I guess I just wouldn't call someone a "friend" if you only interacted on message boards. But if it works for you guys then all good.

Yeah, we do. I mean, hes older than dirt; I'm young and vibrant but it works. Plus, the sex isn't bad.

There's always going to be a-hole troll posters on any board like this. But once in a blue moon, it is possible to engage in passionate debates that are interesting to read without taking opposing views as a personal attack -- or turning the discussion into a series of personal attacks.

But while I take the discussion topics seriously, I am well aware of the cesspool nature of this place so you can't take yourself too seriously if you plan to hang out here for very long. Basically, the Water Cooler is the no-holds-barred, WWE for political junkies. :)
