It most certainly is not. This is about people not being able to accept their guy lost. This is a cult. The French Revolution didnt involve protecting their king, quite the opposite.
We are, the courts are, the judges are, the local election offices are, the republican leadership of states are.

I don’t know. I was thinking about it. These guys went straight to the source of their anger which is the government. Protests over the summer had people blocking highways, looting stores and burning small businesses. I guess I enjoy my insurrection direct and accurately aimed. Also, any anti-government movement is one that is making the world a better place. Although, these wingnuts are too narrowly focused on Trump and his voice.
States run elections. States certified election results. There is no federal remedy short of federally standardizing voting.

On a macro level, I dont know that much can be done because money and power are hard to part with. Things like this are just inevitable. Populism is starting to take hold and there are pretty big movements on both sides, and eventually they are going to coalesce into a single movement that is done with the rich and the powerful.
The movements on both sides are not equivalent. One of the populist sides is about healthcare, better wages, etc. The other side is about keeping Trump in power at all costs.
I'm just here to remind you that trump is more upset at one black athlete taking a respectful knee during the national anthem than he is at traitors storming the capital.
What populist movement on the right? A wall that does nothing? More tax cuts for the rich? Tariffs that hurt us more than China? People on the right might have legitimate populist type wishes, but backing Trump at this point is not populism.

I hate this from the right as much as I did from the left over most of this year. As for the politicians crying, Sorry people you made your bed, lay in it. When Democratic leaders at best turned a blind eye to riots, destroying private property, tearing down statues, the injuring or killing of innocent people, and in many cases encouraging it, They are now getting a little taste of their own actions. I agree. They should be charged and convicted. Also the guy who incited them an hour before at a rally and told them to march to the capitol with him along with his lawyer puppet who said we need a trial by combat. Blood is on their hands.

But it’s disingenuous to say crazy Rudy was calling for actual combat. The full context of his remarks makes that abundantly clear.
It doesn’t matter what Giuliani “meant in context”. He called for trial by combat. If you think the braindead mob storming the capitol was able to decipher his meaning in context I don’t know what to tell you. You don’t use that rhetoric to stir up an angry mob.
