Protested have breeched Capitol, Militia outside Ga Capitol...

This Perry Quote from years ago was prophetic:

WASHINGTON — Rick Perry tried to warn voters of the dangers of Donald Trump.

In a speech ahead of the 2016 Republican presidential contest in which both men would compete, the former Texas governor framed Trump as an unchecked demagogue and chose a striking historical image to illustrate his point: A mob attack on Washington.

Perry described an 1854 assault on the nation’s capital in which members of the nativist Know-Nothing movement accosted a guard and destroyed slabs of marble that were meant to complete the Washington Monument. Their goal was to thwart animagined conspiracy about the Pope taking over the government.

“These people built nothing, created nothing. They existed to cast blame and tear down certain institutions. To give outlet to anger,” Perry said. “Donald Trump is the modern-day incarnation of the Know-Nothing movement.”

I absolutely cannot think of a better comparison. Trump's party is the modern know-nothing movement.

These fuking slack jawed inbred dipshits stormed our capitol because they think this election was stolen. How goddamn butthole stupid do you have to be to honestly think Trump would win?

Crappy Coup. Other countries do much better. What was a shirtless guy, with a Viking helmet posing for Instagram going to do? He’s still the president, so who were they going to overthrow.

How do you change election votes by a takeover of the Capitol building? Lol

You've got to admit, Trump Viking was one cool cat. :)

They created a Frankenstein monster and now they've discovered he's left the lab and is running amok. :)

Looks like social media has identified zip tie guy. Not going to post his FB in the slight chance it isnt him, but I am 99.9% sure it is. His FB says he lives in Nashville, but has his place of employment at a bar in Fort Myers, so not sure where he actually lives. Regardless, dude went out of his way to cover his face at the riot, but didnt think to delete all of his facebook posts showing he was there with all the gear he was wearing etc. These MAGA hillbilly terrorists arent the brightest bulbs in the chandeliers.

update: THe genius finally took his facebook down, after it is already all over social media.

Luckily half the braindead stormers memorialized the event on social media. Oh and they don’t believe in the Covid hoax so no masks. It’s gonna be like shooting fish in a barrel for the FBI.

I heard about 10 minutes of Trumps speech, and what I heard was not calling for violence, nor illegal acts, if he did I have no problems charging him once he leaves office. I without hearing the speech will agree he did nothing to tamp down the crowd.

I listened to a few people who were at the rally, they spoke of a group of people many in black some , some with what they thought were bullet proof vest an some with helmets on, Who were trying to instigate things from inside the crowd. They all had been to trump rallies and never saw these type people in the crowd. They need to find those people and hit them hard as possible. There were not thousands involved here, there were 100 to at most 200, most likely under 150. A decent # of those came with plans to do what they did. The 99.8% peaceful protesting crowd simply gave them cover.

Lemme guess. Antifa? They have already identified many of them. There were definitely many more than 100. Your narrative is stale and OBE.

200 people stormed the capitol and 99.8% of them were peaceful equates to less than ONE person who had non peaceful intentions. Might want to check your math on this one.

Another loyal Rush Limbaugh listener regurgitating the new party line. Loudly proclaim that violent stuff only happens when the Left is involved and blame the whole thing on Leftwing Antifa who ‘infiltrated’ this peace-loving group of Trumpsters.

The trouble with this 99.8% nonsense is that our MAGA crowd videotaped and photographed themselves ‘having fun’ inside the Capitol. With all the Q believers, Proud Boys, and other fringe crazies, you have to be super-gullible to believe this was the work of Antifa—-kinda of the same gullibility involved in believing massive voter fraud stole the election from their boy, Trump.

I dont think that's what goodknight was saying. There were thousands of people at the rally, with a handful of agitators. There were maybe 200 that breached the capitol out of those thousands. No, it wasn't antifa, it was right-wing agitators that riled up the crowd on the steps and people lost their senses.

200 is easily debunked with the videos out there of the breaches at multiple different points of entry.

I understand what you're saying BUT ... let's stop and think about what you've just posted: "there was thousands of people at the rally." (I heard estimates of 20,000.)

Thousands of people came from all across the country to vocally protest an election that every sane person in the world knew was a fair and honest election. 99% of the Republican politicians in Congress put up with this charade all the way through to the electoral college vote -- and even with the ceremonial tallying of the vote in Congress, we STILL had elected officials continuing to promote a deranged man's nonsense.

All of the "maybe 200" radicals who invaded the Capitol building were egged on to the point of insurrectionism by Trump and all of his political and media sycophants. Every goddamn one of them has blood on their hands.

I'm not disagreeing with that. I think the point that goodknight was making is that 20,000 people heard all of the same things but only a fraction of them took it to mean violence. Add in the agitators and a few bad actors can make a lot of decent people look bad so it's unfair to lump them all together.

It’s a slippery slope when mob mentality is involved. As we saw on Wednesday. I think only a small percentage were willing to try initially, but as they became increasingly successful, throngs of people who had no original intent to invade the Capitol suddenly were emboldened. Part of this is just peer pressure.

One thing about this that i kind of go back on forth on is the justification of "nobody is listening to us". I get that, because when all other methods are exhausted people do turn to rage and violence. Not just in a mob setting like this but also in relationships, personal or like at a job or whatnot. When someone feels trapped they act out in bad ways. To that end, there is always some amount of blame that both sides need to accept in how things culminated, but the crime also can't be tolerated.

THere is no blame on the left for this, sorry, but that is BS. They lost an election, that is all. Both sides have lost elections over the years, and will continue to do so in the future.

So much for the idea of coming together I guess, lol.

Yeah, we should all come together with domestic terrorists and we do that by blaming both sides for the actions of these people. So much for the party of personal responsibility I guess.

You sound like the husband who is so distraught over his wife cheating on him and claims he was perfect in every way. Then we find out he's been abusing her emotionally and controlling her for years. "Its her fault!" right?

No, I sound like the guy who isnt making excuses for domestic terrorists. We have a system to get rid of politicians, and it isnt by storming the capitol because you lost an election in a Democratic country. Is the gonna be the new narrative now? These people were victims and we try and justify their actions?
