as for the 2000 miles and rough terrain, have you actually heard of the great wall of china? they built some pretty massive sections over some rough terrain a thousand years ago. at this point you are trolling or actually stupid.

Excellent analytical tool. of course there are massive economic penalties to closing the borders completely. I saw an estimate when Trump threatened to close the border and they were saying $1 Billion per day. Mexico is one of our largest trade partners.
I don't see a whole lot of downsides to completely opening the borders, it would be similiar to our policy early on as a country. Immigrants have been proved to have lower rates of crime, as long as they are able to obtain jobs (which we have plenty low paying job openings). It would probably boost our economy.
If you check, you might discover I'm the OP in this thread and my point was to ask how a wall 'protects' us from legal asylum seekers? If you're going to attack me, at least know what the hell you're talking about.
