Russian invasion into Ukraine is imminent

if anything the rest of the World overestimated not underestimated the Russians. The consensus early was that Russia would take Kyiv in a weekend.

idk what happened in this country where a sizable portion is mad that we are helping a country that is getting picked on w war crimes by an incompetent bully. No one is surprised that if it lasted long enough that the Russians would have some success in the East but that is just them not valuing their own troops lives.

How long to we fund this enviable defeat?

Here is how we are winning.

"Considering the price level that has been established as a result of the West's policies, we have suffered no budgetary losses," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Saturday.

The Russians control 20% of ukraine and growing. We are wasting billions of our own tax dollars per day while they are funding the war with high energy prices. Let's get everyone making over $75k to move in a 60% tax bracket to fund wars that are mismanaged. That way anger builds and nonsense stops.

Time to throttle energy consumption and have no vacation travel if we really want to increase supply. No cruises and limits on SUV sales. Charge a $10,000 suv premium for carbon emissions too. And charge a yearly carbon emissions fee for these cars.

What we are doing is wasting money and just delaying the war conclusion. Are we going to fork out billions per month for the next year?
I'm actually in the market for a large SUV... Timing is perfect! ...just like the Obama's Cash for Clunker era when gas prices were sky high, manufactures couldn't 'give' Large SUVs away.

I need prices to slash like that again, then I will strike!

Overestimated? Rootin tootin Putin is causing a global famine. Meanwhile you continue to say he's getting his ass kicked and Russia is getting run out on a rail.

They have a budget surplus with oil prices skyrocketing. They can control worldwide food supply. We already have countries that want ukraine to give up land in peace talks. Russia is winning clearly right now. Europe is still funding Russia buying their oil.

Once they get to 50:1 for the Ruble, they will peg it to the dollar by backing their currency with their gold reserves. And then they will further discount their oil sales to India and China. They'll load up on gold, Rupees, and Yuan to strengthen their foreign currency reserves. Then, OPEC will have no choice but to follow suit. The sudden inflow of foreign held USD will cause massive, massive inflation here.

Putin is definitely putting on a clinic. Gaining land, budget surplus, etc. Meanwhile we are pissing away money at this lost case.

Russia is not winning this war. Stop being delusional. The 2nd ranked military was supposed to overrun the 22nd in a few weeks. It’s been over 100 days and their weaponry is becoming depleted as is their military funding

This is why the rational people of the world laugh at you guys. You admit that Russia is the 2nd most powerful military in the world and yet you buy the propaganda about them getting whipped. Even the Ukranian president admits that they are getting their butts whooped but you are delusional to not even believe him.

Ukraine admitted russia controls over 20% of their country in just 100 days. Let's be real what is happening.

They sent old equipment in through Belarus that they were OK with losing. It made Ukraine have to fight on 2 fronts and they sacrificed the eastern 5th of the country and most of their ports to save the capital, which Putin didn't want in the first place.

Russia wanted all of Ukraine from Day-1.

Remember that he wanted the old Soviet Union restored?
Why would Russia or Putin want to put the USSR back together, realistically? First of all, it's an almost impossible task, but more importantly the majority of that land is worthless and impossible to manage. I could buy the warm water port aspect of the Ukraine invasion to some extent, but their markets are to the east so even that explanation is pretty suspect.

Lol. Some of us said from the beginning that Putin doesn't want all of Ukraine.
This is bullshit . Putin was trying to take Kyiv and capture and/or kill Zelensky in the first few days. That is why they were Bombing the Capital and without US Intelligence might have taken control of Kyiv’s airport and would have had a much easier time advancing early . Ukraine got warned and kicked Russia’s ass defending their Capital

keep up your Kremlin about face messaging

If true, why didn't Russia take out the electrical grid and communications in Kiev? They had the ability to do so and that is the first thing you would do from a military perspective.

bc Russia is incompetent and is all numbers . and the US was helping them protect infrastructure and communications
If Russia is this incompetent, why were we concerned about engaging them in Syria back in 2016? If they are this incompetent, why do we spend 15 times what they do on defense?

Russia is completely incompetent. That was all the talk of the first 60 days of this conflict. That’s why Putin replaced the general in charge of this entire operation and they CHANGED their objective

So.., we’re not incompetent. They don’t even maintain their military equipment There are all kinds of articles describing this

Don't you think 3 or 4 times as much would be adequate? If they are #2, how far ahead of them do we need to be?

No, their equipment is THAT BAD

It’s all irrelevant ANYWAY to compare our spending to Russia’s. We aren’t ever going to have a conventional war with them

The question is that if the #2 military is this inept, how much should we really be spending to stay ahead of them? Remember that this is "defense" spending.

Team Genocide? You there?

So after we spend a trillion dollars on this special military operation and Russia continues to have a budget surplus and still captures at least parts of ukraine, what was the gain for the taxpayers? I don't want to make your tiny brain hurt, but I love to see something besides "team genocide".

You must be part of the “do nothing” about gun control group as well

There’s nothing more to say to your BDS obsessed brain. You complain incessantly about this and Russia winning, but offer nothing else

It's funny because the direct military and support spending is just a fraction of it. We are still buying Russian oil products via India.

Even worse in Europe with oil dependency. They depend on Russia for oil and natural gas. They are completely funding russia's war and defeat of ukraine.

Now Russia has a budget surplus, stronger currency, and control more Ukrainian territory. What's the end goal here?

Well, Ukraine has already used up that 40 billion we sent them last week. I wonder what the US got for that investment other than Ukraine shutting off energy exports to the rest of Europe.

The toss them billions and hope for the best strategy isn't working. Next is just giving Russis exactly what they were going to get anyway.
