The Coronavirus thread - 3/30 Trump accuses NY hospital workers of stealing PPE.

They think that they can just control the messaging to fix the problem.
I saw a piece on TV where Trump and Pence first said 'we need to all come together during this crisis and keep politics out of it' --- and then multiple times in the same press conferences they trashed the Democrats for fear-mongering.

Color me shocked the usual suspects can’t contribute to a thread without political crying

Pretty sure funding hasn't been cut. Congress creates the budget so if funding was cut it wouldn't be trump doing it.
In 2018, Trump fired key officials connected to our country's response to pandemics. They weren't replaced. In addition, Trump has proposed a 16% cut to the CDC in his latest budget.

Pretty sure that sounds like an Administration that gives a sh*t about preparing for a pandemic crisis.

Firing officials and replacing them doesnt equate to gutting the program. Pretty sure his proposed cut wont happen, just like how Obama's proposed budgets didnt go anywhere. If we had a line-item veto we could hold the president accountable for this kind of thing, but as it stands the issue still goes back to congress

We could have a trillion dollar budget for the CDC and there is no guarantee it doesn't happen here. International travelers every second pour into our country. They could show no symptoms and be contiguous. Then some like to throw parties for those illegally coming in. How you go to stop that too?

You might want to check your facts before you respond next time.

I got $4.85 that says you aren't the person who should be spouting this.

Well, he didnt fire anyone so I guess you're right on that one. He did appoint Alex azar to head this up last month, so you're wrong on that on .

Our president cares more than you do about this virus. Firing those officials and cutting the CDC budget which hasn’t happened yet isn’t going to make one bit of difference.
You know it too

Yeah, firing top pandemic scientists and seeing fit not to replace them back in 2018 doesn't mean diddily-squat as we prepare for a potential pandemic now.

I forgot I'm talking to "We don't need no stinkin' SCIENCE" Trumpsters.

Those were the only experts on this matter in the entire CDC?? Wonder how the CDC ever survived for decades.

I guess they aren’t eligible for consultation and rehire, because Hitler Trump sent them to the gas chambers. :rolleyes:o_O:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Shookster is shit tier. Nothing he types is worth responding to. And he’s like 80 so he better go into isolation for a while

Articles that I find show that Timothy Ziemer, who was the head of the pandemic response team quit in 2017, the day after John Bolton was hired. The rest of the team are still employed and part of the CDC. Funding was never cut.

He "quit" sure.

His role was never filled and his team was disbanded. Democrats knew this was a mistake as you can tell from this article about his departure from 2018.

You can't possibly believe that Trump made us more prepared for this. He is actively telling Americans to ignore this to try and salvage the stock market when he should be telling them to prepare and be safe.

Tom Bossert is a lawyer that also resigned the day after Bolton was appointed. How does a lawyer help with prevention of a pandemic virus?

Homeland security employee who urged increased spending to combat biological disease and worked in that field before being fired.

How can we prepare for a virus mutation that nobody has ever encountered before until 2 months ago?

You’ve still done nothing to quantify how we aren’t prepared now vs what we could have been prepared as had this guy remained. You can’t do it because your attack is entirely political in nature.

We have a virus that has existed for 2 months, mostly in China, and you’re already in hysterics declaring that Trump will leave everyone to be sick and die. You’re insane

I see nothing in his history that makes him an effective employee at fighting pandemics. He was hired by trump for national security issues without anything close to being an impressive resume on the issue.

Because diseases spread through a limited number of methods. Being prepared to contain or limit a diseases spread is largely not dependent on the specific mutation of the disease.

TDS. Trump should have done something different no matter what the issue is and whether it actually matters

I'm sorry, but this discussion is about coronavirus. Please stay on topic.
Encouraging Americans to not vaccinate their kids is always relevant in times of a global pandemic. Trump could not be less informed on all issues related to health and science and he fired everyone who knew what they were doing and muzzled the CDC so their honest warnings didn't hurt his precious stock market.

Is there a vaccine for coronavirus?

You can do better than this.

He can’t. He’s an obsessive degenerate who is incapable of talking about a subject without endless crying about the President
