Malzon and Hand going into their third year…boys recruited 2 high school OL in 2023 and one in 2022. Zero so far for 2024.
Again what is Malzon doing bro? You think that an AVG of 1.5 OL per year is a good thing? Well do you?
Out of the three signed OL by Malzon and Hand only Cline is a good prospect. Kid actually wanted to sign with Miami but we did not have a spot for him. Still he’s one that can be developed.
Hand The Rapper can drop and do a worm tho. I guess that why Malzon gave him a promotion this year? Maybe because he is a weak yes man…like GM likes? Which one is it? I’ll bet it’s both.

We need QB depth this year and he will transfer out again most likely after he gets buried on the depth chart here. No doubt he had few options outside of our PWO offer, which is an easy offering for us. He’s a statue of a QB, no way Gus or even Hinshaw could scheme him in a Gus offense. Pure depth move with a local kid, a win-win for both parties.
Sorry Lake Martin is near Auburn where Bill Oliver and Terry Bowden used to live. I am not well versed in Florida geography.
I do agree with everything you said. Gus usually has at least one walk on quarterback on the roster. The transfer of Will Bohn opened up a walk on space for Gunnar. (Yes, I know walk-ons are pretty much limitless, but Gus has a certain organization to his rosters.)

I’m not big on Gus but as of now not enough to fire him. He probably gets 2 years in B12 to see if he can be competitive. Even if JRP stinks it up next year , Gus gets one more year to find a good QB. Although I’m not optimistic he’ll find a guy to run the high school offense without getting hurt.

UCF shooting its shot early with the June 2 CH3 weekend. Getting first dibs at some of the higher ranked prospects on its board. But it needs to lock it up and shut their recruitment down.

UCF took 15 high school recruits last cycle, it needs at least 20 for 2024 imo. Anyone can see that the quality of the transfers Gus brought went down from 2022 to 2023. You can’t build a program by taking an army of mid traders with low ceiling year after year. It won’t happen. Period.
Hand the Rapper can sell playing early since there’s literally nobody locked it with the OL for next year. Let’s see what he can do?
