Trump Whistleblower and 'Promises' to Ukraine

Using the power of your office to secure a job for someone that they are not remotely qualified for is unethical. Whoever is doing it.
OMIGAWD! Someone is given a job they are not 'remotely qualified for'!!!! No one has ever seen THAT before inside or outside of Government! :)

Do you have proof that is what happened? Hunter Biden is a Yale Law graduate who was appointed to run Amtrak by GWB, obviously a Republican. It isn't as if he has no qualifications. I am sure his name helps, but that doesn't necessarily make it unethical or the reason he got the job.

His name is EVERYTHING when your President has stupidly used his office to get back at his political opponent -- with the same last name -- and you are desperate to invent a false equivalency.

He had zero experience in financial deals and private equity deals. But yeah...I'm sure it wasn't a political move...lol

He was a board member, not the CEO, COO, CFO or something along those lines. He was also in the Dept of Commerce under Bill Clinton, so he certainly had some financial experience and oversight. He had also worked as a partner and board member for a global mergers and acquisitions firm, and a hedge fund. So yeah, I would argue he had the experience to be a board member for a natural gas company.

But how is this going to work from now on. Hunter Biden getting a job in the private sector is apparently corrupt. So should relatives of politicians just not be allowed to work? Or they caan work but only make an average salary? What about Trump's kids who are actually in the government, W e know Ivanka and Jared's jobs are political. Is that going to continued to be allowed? I think we just need some guidelines on this.

^^^ Exactly our point!

When the US Media's 'Trump Logic' is applied to Democrats, Senator Biden and Hunter Biden are immediately ensnared. Should they be? Investigated, yes, prosecuted, probably not in the end. But it doesn't matter. It's how the US Media approaches Trump.

As a Libertarian, I'm all for investigating all politicians and relatives of politicians that are in publicly compromising positions. I'm just tired of the one-way BS.

And W. approved the Healthcare Marketplace integrator for the ACA. Doesn't matter in this entire argument. What matters is what people do, and what conflicts-of-interest they have. That's what you fail to focus on.

For once I'd love to see the US Media actually cover the FOIA releases on all the Democratic lawyers involved in Kiev, Nur-sultan and other, former COMECON capitals on-behalf of Moscow to get them to join the EEU, or remove politicians from power who did not.

I didn't read all 4 pages. So, pardon any repetition. When I heard the initial news of a whistle blower and then it comes out he really didn't actually hear the convo , I thought of that scene in Ferris Buelller where the girl said she heard from her cousins brother sister mom best friend that Ferris was in the hospital with kidney failure.

So much of this hub bub to me is conjecture on the lame ass media's part whipped up in a frenzy by leading Dems. You are going to impeach on this alone? Are they that politically stupid? Oh, well we'll see them at Trump's 2021 inauguration.

As far Joe Biden and his kid goes. I heard the audio of Biden bragging how he got the prosecutor fired who was investigating the gas company in which his son sat on the BOD. I heard it. So, he did it. He the vice president told the Ukraine fire him or you ain't getting the $1.6 billion in aid to develop you gas industry. It's on tape.

I don't know jack about Bidens skill set to serve on a natural gas board. I do know when it's low tide and stinks like fish in the Mosquito Lagoon. This smells bad for the Bidens. Too me this Trump thing is a made up smoke screen to cover for Biden. Trump does not need Ukrainian dirt for political gains. If Biden wins the nomination Trump will eat his lunch in the debate just because Biden talks like he is senile.

I am a libertarian minded guy and an independent voter. For a decade now I have concluded that the Dems project onto others exactly what they do themselves. The media just lets them off the hook time after time. Biden had stones today accusing Trump of the very thing he is guilty of doing. It's that projection again.

Trump is not my favorite politician but you guys on the left the more you do stupid crap like this and the impeachment, the more you sound irrational and the more the independent voter just walks away from your nonsense. In fact I think this stuff just gives The Trumpeter more sympathy votes from the non stop hysteria and railroading. Y'all giving the guy the election with these antics. You don't even know it or care I suppose.

I was responding to someone else who clearly thought it did matter. SO if you don't think it matters, take it up with them.

money shot starts around 51 min mark.

“I said we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said ‘you can’t do that, you have no authority, you’re not the president,'” Biden remarked. “I said call [President Obama], I told you you’re not getting a billion dollars.”

Biden said he gave Ukrainian government officials a six-hour window before he would leave Ukraine and said, “If the prosecutor’s not fired, you’re not getting the money.”

“Well son of a bitch, he got fired,” Biden continued. “And they put in place someone who was solid.”

i think this whole inquiry into trump and ukraine is going to back fire big time on biden.
In other words, Trump screwed up again and behaved like a tin horn dictator but his loyal supporters will try desperately to paint the natural Congressional response to his stupidity as another ‘witch hunt’, right?

Our poor, beleaguered President will suddenly garner enough sympathy votes to win re-election. Is that how your wet dream scenario plays out?

the whistle blowers account wasnt even first hand. why not just wait for the full unredacted transcripts to be release before you jump to conclusions?

Earth to Wayne: Trump has admitted he asked the Ukrainian President to investigate Biden’s son. But heaven’s no, it wasn’t tied to getting their military aid!!!

Trump initially said he asked the Pentagon to delay it a week before his phone call to the new President because he was concerned about ‘corruption inside the country.’ Then he told us it was actually because more of the wealthier European countries should be paying more.

The timing of his little talk with Ukraine about investigating Biden’s son was just an innocent coincidence, right guys?

they both are potentially bad. they are both the same exact thing. if you cant see that, you are blinded by tds. both should be investigated. trump does have one thing, the transcripts that will be released today.

They were and Trump simply asked for Zelensky to help. Given that Biden admitted to this personally, it’s not that far fetched of a request. So, no leverage was applied directly in Trump’s case in the one call. Of course, they’ve been trying to impeach Trump since before he was sworn in, so I’m sure the call log will be insufficient to quell that.

LOL.

It’s not the full transcript. It’s a memo. Shocker...Trump didn’t do what he said he would.
Read the document. It's as close as you can get to a transcript for this type of call. Making an issue of this is simply grasping at straws.

Well since it clearly says Trump was going to have Rudy and Barr call the president of the Ukraine, then don't we kind of need those transcripts too?
When is enough, enough? How much taxpayer money do you want to waste constantly tilting at this windmill?

Yeah, not sure how this is supposed to make Trump look good. IT clearly says he directed Barr and Guiliani to be in contact with the Ukraine government, so unless we know the details of those conversations, then this is meaningless.

Side note. Rudy is Trump's personal lawyer, he isn't apart of the government, so how is it acceptable he is being directed to talk with foreign leaders at the behest of the president?

You have to be kidding me. So you don't thing the part where he instructed Rudy and Barr to talk with Ukraine, and what that consisted of is important? That is the most important part of the whole damn thing.

And don't try and feed me the BS that you care about tax payer money with all the golf and stuff like that Trump spends tax payer money on. The "fiscally conservative" Republican ship sailed a long time ago, so quit trying to play that charade.

Up until a couple of hours ago, the most important thing was this call where he supposedly coerced Z into submission through threat of money. That didn't happen and nothing in this call even eludes to there being a threat or Z being anything but amiable towards the investigation. He then says that he's going to have his staff follow-up with Z which is a common thing for anyone managing to do. Do you really think that Barr or Rudy are going to then go, "I know you instantly said that you would look into it and it goes into the honesty of our country, but you'd better do it or else we're going to withhold promised resources?"

TRUMP said:
There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that, so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it. … It sounds horrible to me.
man that looks terrible. we need impeachment now.*

Huh? It is important. You are acting as if that is the end be all of it. It isn't. It clearly said he instructed to talk to Ukraine on his behalf. How can you possibly think that isn't an important part of this?

I don't know what Rudy or Barr said, but I think we should find out.

Come on. Are we going to micromanage everything a POTUS says to every foreign entity now? This started with a whistleblower complaint claiming that someone else told them that this one specific call was out of bounds. It was not. Case closed.

I don't even know what this means. How is this micromanaging anything? It is an investigation on one topic, that we would like the answers too.

Is this going to be the normal process in politics now? Someone gets second hand info and we have investigations after every meeting.

Where the US Media lost credibility with me is where they refuse to visit all of the relations not only the Obama administration, but Democratic law firms had, with the Russians ... especially when Ukraine had their elected leader overthrown for not joining the EEU.

The FOIA disclosures filed by the Libertarian (not Conservative) Judicial Watch being utterly ignored is getting old. There are all sorts of details on how and why. It includes why the Russians hacked Podesta's account before he even became Clinton's campaign manager.

But nope ...

So, again, I'd like to see the details on this. Sounds pretty weak, but I'd love to hear the details.
but what about her emails

Trump and Rudy both basically admitted to it, and the summary at least points in the direction they did it. That isn't second hand information. The whistleblower is also in the intelligence community, so he/she isn't a random person off the street.

Quick overview:

Trump encourages Ukraine to investigate corruption, offers support from 2 well-respected prosecutors.

How is this a bad thing?

How is this a bad thing?

You think it is appropriate for the Attorney General of the US to work for Ukraine in solving corruption? That isn't his job.

Why is it inappropriate for our attorney general to advise an ally on how to address corruption?

You guys went from "trump threatened to withhold aid if they didn't come up with dirt on biden", to "our government isn't supposed to help allies", and the solution is still the same thing: impeach trump.

TDS at its pinnacle
