I attended my first basketball game since the Tacko Fall era. Great atmosphere and an even better win! I was really shocked at the lack of UCF branding in the arena. If you're standing in a concession line, there isn't a UCF logo or Knight to be seen anywhere. Nothing in the men's bathrooms other than a couple of Frank Gay flyers.

My son attends uf (I know). The entire campus is orange and blue and there is a gator or uf logo, on seemingly everything. Why is our arena so generic? Seems like a cheap way to brand the program to thousands and thousands of concert goers and other visitors.

My father in law called 911 and Fire Department showed up. I know in Naples I thought EMS was separate from the Fire Department. I know in other states they are separate. So I guess in Seminole County, becoming a fireman, you have to do both fire and EMS which means those guys and gals not only fit but smart. I bet they make darn good $ being able to do both.

Mens Hoops dropped this post celebrating the start of Black History Month. Never thought about it before, that Dawkins is our first black head basketball coach.

This is my favorite piece of Black American History I’ve learned recently. Since we play Iowa State this year, I invite you to learn more about Jack Trice from Iowa State. The only college football stadium in the country named after a black man.



He was only 21 when he died from injuries sustained on the field as the first black athlete to play for the Cyclones.


Last year was the centennial remembrance of his legacy.
