Four ACC schools are reportedly “in talks” with the Big 12.

Internet rumor or not, I'd welcome those teams. In other news Army to join the AAC in 2025.

Four ACC schools are reportedly “in talks” with the Big 12.

Morgantown, WV – Conference realignment talk is ramping up once again.

According to Greg Swaim of The Greg Swaim Show, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida State, and Clemson are putting plans into place to leave the ACC as early as 2025. With these moves, more ACC schools will look to leave, and a move to the Big 12 may be in the cards.

Swaim would add that Louisville, NC State, Pitt, and Virginia Tech have had “informal third party talks” with the Big 12.

Atmosphere on Saturday

The atmosphere for the space game was electric. Heck I think the rain somehow even made it better. But the team itself had a lot to do with it. They played like a team that knew they were going to win and win big, and they weren’t going to settle for less.

This Saturday is going to be different. It’s a noon kickoff. It’s not a ranked opponent. It’s not even a new opponent. And it’s Saturday after thanksgiving which means the crowd will probably be lighter than usual.

This team is going to have to learn to make some of its own electricity. If they play well and are exciting the crowd that is there will get into it. If they come out flat so will the crowd. This is a big game, it determines bowl eligibility, but they have to be able to generate some of their own excitement.

Let’s hope they do. There are a lot of seniors on this team, I hope they step up.

Long day traveling back from Lubbock

The Southwest flight that was supposed to leave at 5:30 a.m. turned out to have a brake issue, so it was delayed for almost six hours until a maintenance crew could arrive from Dallas with the necessary part. So everybody's connecting flight got moved. I should have been back in Orlando around 11 a.m., instead I didn't get back until 7 p.m. (after arriving at the Lubbock airport at 3:30 a.m. and getting basically no sleep). Primary reason why I hate connecting flights and will always take a nonstop (even if there is a drive involved), except it's just not possible going to isolated outposts like Lubbock.

I think Matt Murschel's American flight was delayed (again) and he may not be getting back until 1 a.m.

Probably was the lightest UCF traveling crowd I can remember. From field level, outside of Carson and UCF Problems and their front row seats, you couldn't spot any UCF fans in the crowd (I know some were there, but UCF black blends in with TTU black).

Atmosphere was up there with Kansas State. It wasn't totally wild or raucous, fans typically only made noise on third down (not every down). The tortilla thing was pretty random, you saw some on the opening kickoff, maybe a few more after touchdowns, extra points and subsequent kickoffs.

They have huge field level speakers blasting audio and music.

I thought the Masked Rider was pretty cool. She was signing autographs before the game.

They really went all in on the possum stuff after one rushed the field in their last home game. They had all kinds of merch already made along with a possum mascot at the game.

Their "IOA Plaza" (concert stage and tailgating tents, for lack of a better word) was a pretty good hike from the actual stadium, probably where Memory Mall would be located at UCF. Fake Smashmouth technically is still considered Smashmouth, but without Steve Harwell they sound like a Smashmouth cover band.

Texas Tech seemed overly protective of the visiting team, maybe because of the tortillas? They had metal barriers surrounding the visiting bench area and towards the end of the game they brought in more barriers to shield.

Due to the end zone construction project, the visitor locker rooms were trailers. But really nice locker rooms, probably nicer than most team's permanent setup.

Will post more on Monday.
