UCF Athletics is going Gay

Press Release:

Frank Gay Services to Partner with UCF Athletics

UCF Athletics has partnered with Frank Gay Services on a multi-year sponsorship agreement that expands its presence and branding to the university's football, basketball and baseball facilities and programs—and identifies Frank Gay Services as the official home services partner for Knights athletics.

"We're pleased to be working with Frank Gay Services to improve the gameday experience for our UCF fans," says Terry Mohajir, UCF vice president and director of athletics. "We're excited to have full capacity at all our home football games, and we know we can count on Frank Gay Services to keep our fans comfortable."

"For nearly 50 years, Frank Gay Services has served Central Floridians with professional cooling, heating, plumbing and electrical services," says Frank Gay Services general manager John Colloca. "We are excited to now serve as the official home services partner of UCF Athletics and to enhance the live sports experience for Knights fans."

Beginning with the upcoming 2022 season, the company will provide dedicated Frank Gay cool zone areas within the east and west corridor of the FBC Mortgage Stadium concourses. Each cool zone will offer an area for fans to escape the heat during home football games. As part of the agreement, Frank Gay Services will be represented across UCF's football, basketball and baseball programs and venues.

The first UCF football game to be played at UCF's FBC Mortgage Stadium will be the Knights' 2022 season opener Thursday, Sept. 1, against South Carolina State (7 p.m. ET on ESPN+).

OT: According to Moody's analytics, houses in Orlando are now overvalued by 30%

To all those who questioned my housing theory and prowess, simply click on the interactive 2022 chart to see by area/region. On the space coast it's 55%. Over the past year alone, home prices have gone up four times faster than incomes. Simple economic theory, which dictates that neither home prices nor incomes can outgrow the other for very long, tells us that isn’t sustainable. By way of comparison, during the last housing bubble, Orlando based homes were only 7% overvalued more so than today. That's what happens when a perfect housing storm hits, I tried to tell everyone here. The good news is homeowners won't be out on the street as banks learned from last time. The bad news is homeowners are paying for houses worth far less than the actual value. *

“This might be a housing bubble. The evidence suggests it looks like a housing bubble. A little bit like a duck. It walks like a duck, it looks like a duck, it certainly might be a duck,” Enrique Martínez-García, a senior research economist at the Dallas Fed, told Fortune back in May.

P5 Label UCF

It's off season so this is a topic to talk about. Wondering if any else has the same opinion. Just an observation, after we won the Fiesta bowl there was some chatter that we would start landing 4 star commitments. Then after the Peach Bowl win the chatter was even greater on recruiting potential. Both resulted in very little movement with additional 4 star players. Now that UCF officially has that P5 label I am pleased with the 4 Stars showing interest with several from the transfer portal already committing. Looks like the data is verifying how much weight that P5 label carries. So glad UCF is heading to the BIG 12 in 2023. "Charge On"

Mount Rushmore of UCF QBs

For me, and I've always said this the past couple years, it depends how one defines the ranking. If we're going to by "Greatest," which encompasses the entire package, winning games, etc., KZ is 100% at the top for me. If it's based on QB acumen, physical traits, tools, etc., Daunte is clearly No. 1.

For me, the knock on Daunte was his failure to win big games... I know there are built-in excuses for some games, and it's not fair to hold a I-A transitionary team to such a high standard. But... The 1998 Auburn game was served on a silver platter with a fantastic performance by the defense. All Daunte needed was an average game, UCF gets that first "big win" and receives their first bowl bid. It seems harsh to say, but looking at what KZ did - and I know he had a fantastic surrounding cast - but KZ helped elevate UCF to heights nobody thought possible.

That said, Daunte coming to UCF was absolutely huge. He really did put UCF on the map.

1. McKenzie Milton
2. Daunte Culpepper
3. Blake Borltes
4. Ryan Schneider

(There are only four heads on Mount Rushmore, and I never saw Hinshaw/Slack play, who probably would warrant the No. 5 spot).

Florida four-star WR Aidan Mizell updates SEC officials ahead of Bama trip

Mizell will use his fourth OV this weekend with Bama. His top-seven remains intact. Update on Rivals:

Portal Transfers? vs High School/NIL

One thing to consider during this recruiting season; How long will the player be at UCF? With signing a high school player, we have the potential for 4/5 years for the player to contribute. But they also can pull a DG, have a good season, and parley that into a nice NIL deal and use the portal to get there. Seems to me that portal transfers having used their "free" transfer by coming to use, have a greater chance of staying.

As nice as as the "big splash" signing is on high school signing day, perhaps it is best to get a "locked-in" portal transfer instead.
