This one legitimately hurts

Not even mad just dejected.

I just don’t understand why when we have a lead we basically ask them to take it back.

That last drive I said we needed to take the top off one time. 2nd down we should’ve thrown it. Third down we should’ve thrown it. The punt there needs to be better coverage there to down it near the goal line. I’m so sick of the special teams.

Also extremely glad we put in Colson for a draw play to waste a game towards his RS. Thanks Gus!

Just sadness. No other feeling.

***UCF PFF Defense Player Grades - 38-35 loss at Iowa State***

Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.

After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

PFF Grading Scale

90 and above - Elite
80 to 89 - Great
70 to 79 - Good
60 to 69 - Average to Above Average
50 - 59 - Below Average
49 and below - Poor

Matt Campbell quote on UCF

“They've got great players with two phenomenal athletes,” Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell said. “This was the most athletically talented team we've played this year.”

Those of us fans who do believe this team has talent for better results should feel vindicated tonight in the midst of the pain of losing.

Don’t understand many posts at all

That was an excellent football game.
Iowa state had to come back at home and really had to have some miracle plays to do it . First big road game and if you watched closely, balls were very catchable . We need to look at receivers .
Considering Iowa state is a top 10 team, I thought our team should have started the season this way. Best game and a lot of new talent out there. I get it was a tough loss , but my beef isn’t this game it’s that it took this long to play the players and play defense aggressively.

What would you constitute a successful 2nd half of the season?

We’re sitting at 3-3 with losses to Cincinnati, Colorado, and UF. If I’m being honest I would’ve projected before the year that we were 4-2 at this point being 2-1 in conference with a loss @TCU and @UF. Losing to Cincinnati hurts, as I thought we would’ve been the better team. Colorado hurts because of BNK. UF hurts because of the way we lost.

We have a brutal 3 game stretch here and could totally be staring down the barrel of 3-6.

So, what do you want to see for the rest of the year? I’ve adjusted my goals to making and winning a bowl game. I’m expecting to go 2-4 the rest of the way with wins over Arizona and Arizona State.

I personally would be happy after seeing our team winning 1 of the next 3 road games, idc which, winning 2/3 at home. I want a top 25 win, and if we by some miracle pull one out of our ass next week @Iowa State then it’s make up for a lot of what’s happened to us. I want to see the young guys. Play Kobe, RJ, the OLine, Barber and Hunter, everyone else I want to play juniors or below. That’s what I want
