George O'Leary's favorite "investigative reporter," WKMG's Mike Holfeld, retired last week. Under the station's mantra of "Getting Results," Holfeld aimed to get GOL's contract during the 2015 winless season, even crashing a press conference one time to put GOL on the spot.

Facebook sleuthing would uncover Mike Holfeld was a huge usf fan.

Longtime WKMG meteorologist Tom Sorrells has also retired, his last broadcast was earlier tonight. He did an interview earlier on Friday with Marc Daniels on The Beat of Sports.

Lastly, WDBO news director and radio host Joe Kelley was laid off from Cox Media Group. In a Reddit AMA, he was quite candid by saying he knew his gig would be up at some point due to Cox selling out to private equity five years ago. They wanted to rid his $200K salary and replace him with somebody who would do the job for $45K.

Probably would have never posted this, but noticed SJ Tuohy and Simon Pflum (The Kingdom) flew to Oxford, MS where country star Morgan Wallen was doing back-to-back nights of concerts in the football stadium. Saturday's concert happened, but the Sunday night concert was suddenly canceled due a "lost voice." SJ was posting about it on Instagram.

I was looking at the Ole Miss board and apparently everybody has a "source" that Wallen was spotted falling-down drunk and I guess they couldn't sober him up in time to perform.

Anyway, I guess this is a big deal. Lots of people paid big money or drove long distances to get to Oxford only to have the rug pulled at the last minute.

PSA: If you’re traveling in Texas to and from UCF sporting events. Might want to know Whataburger’s grid status. 😀

With recruiting winding down...I thought I would begin looking at New Hampshire. Folks...we don't have anything to worry about. The QB has moved on to Minnesota and was actually not bad. So, they will have to start a new QB (transferred in) against us. The offense is very similar to ours (RPO)...almost identical. The most impressive offensive player is the TE. A very big fellow (6'4" 253# listed on the roster) and does have some soft hands. The WR's is an area of depth, but I don't anticipate much of a problem as it appears they played against a lot of zone coverage. The OL didn't look too impressive as the QB needed to get the ball out of his hands fairly quickly to avoid a sack. His mobility certainly helped and he threw a pretty good ball...however, he is now gone. #1 RB returns and is shifty with a bit of speed...again, I don't think they have seen anything like our defensive line...so not much worry. Their defense is just really bad. If we don't hang at least 50+ on these guys I will be shocked.
