RECAP: UCF Men's Basketball suffers another close loss, this time to Cincinnati

The UCF Men's basketball team lost another close game, this time at home, to conference rival Cincinnati, 76-74. The Knights were dominated in rebounding margin, and struggled to get much going offensively for most of the afternoon. Head Coach Johnny Dawkins knows that his team will have to find ways to execute down the stretch if they want a shot at making some noise in the upcoming Big 12 conference tournament.

More rumors of staff changes...

As I posted a few days ago, Gus is expected to hire a new strength & condition coach. I'm also hearing there will be multiple staff changes. First I heard defense and then heard about the possibility of Grant Heard, then found this tweet from earlier that was tagged to the wrong Brandon Helwig.

What's your interest level in UCF Basketball?

  • Diehard MBB supporter - followed every game for years

    Votes: 81 25.2%
  • Now that UCF is in the Big 12, I'm more engaged and am now watching/following every game

    Votes: 70 21.8%
  • I watch most games, but not all

    Votes: 78 24.3%
  • Casual, I watch a few games here and there

    Votes: 80 24.9%
  • Don't really pay much attention to UCF Hoops

    Votes: 12 3.7%

Now that UCF is deep into its first season in the Big 12, I'm curious to gauge interest.

Obviously, UCF has a football-centric fanbase. That's true for most schools (except UConn, Kansas, Duke, etc.) but I've always felt like the interest-gap between FB and MBB was way bigger at UCF.

Whether it's past conference affiliation, mediocrity, Florida not having a great hoops tradition compared to the Midwest (I remember Russ Wood argued with me on that one), etc., it seems like it was always a struggle to get UCF fans to care and show up consistently to games.

Obviously those OOC games in November/December are a tough draw, but fan support for Big 12 conference games has been great. Oklahoma was a great example - they barely had any visiting fans (unlike KU, BYU and WVU) and yet that was a sell out. Cincy game had some empty seats though.

Anyway, for the most diehard of UCF fans since you're in the Dungeon, what is your interest level in UCF hoops now?

By "follow" - I simply mean if UCF is playing, you are tracking/watching the game. I understand not everybody lives in Orlando to physically be there, but anybody can watch on ESPN+.

Was too young to see him play football but I loved him in WCW. What life he's lived: College Football HOF, 5x All Pro, Super Bowl Champ, and memorable wrestling career. Sad to see him or anyone for that matter have to battle a disease like this.

Some overly confident Nazis

Login to view embedded media I think this is the same group that has been in Orlando over the last couple of years. I'm not overly familiar with Orlando, but noticing a pattern with these bitches. They are doing this in tourist areas where they probably get less resistance since people are probably just having fun and don't want to get overly involved. But if they do this in the wrong neighborhoods in Nashville there are going to be some Nazis with no teeth and possibly some dead Nazis. I really hope they have the balls to try this in Memphis, would be the end of the Nazi movement in about 10 minutes.

INTERVIEW: New UCF DB Bryon Threats is looking to hit it big with the Knights

Transfer DB Bryon Threats joins the Knights football team after spending 3 seasons with the Cincinnati Bearcats. Bryon is pretty familiar with UCF having played against them 3 times in his career, but now he looks to bring his big hit mentality to the Knights secondary.
