UCLA not only loses the Sun Bowl to Pitt and Thomas-Robinson gets injured and jeopardizing his draft status. The Sun Bowl was a very entertaining game. UCF is going to have to get bigger and stronger up front on both the offensive and defensive lines very quickly to compete in the Big-12 conference. Both UCLA and Pitt would have put 60 points on UCF this afternoon. I hope Gus hasn’t forgotten how to recruit big-time players to compete in a major football conference.

Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.

After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

Bowl season started last night, figured we could start a thread to collect all the random commentary.

If y’all aren’t watching gata get curb stomped by OSU right now, you’re missing out.

I swear JRP was running fornhis life all day. Somehow the stats only show 6 sacks and 8 TFLs this has to be giving our Oline more credit than they deserve.

On the flip side we had 0 sacks and 0 TFLs. Not good at all.

Recruiting should be easy all positions are open. QB lines, WR, everything is wide open.

Also, Gus needs to take January and think of 5 new plays our guys will excel at running. Not guys that arent on the roster but the guys we have. Everyone knows the 3 he runs now.

If not, i suppose we will still watch anyway. But this did not look like a top 20 offense even if the stat sheets say so. Running it up on overmatched opponents to lay eggs to those with a pulse is not great.
