Delicious Bull Tears Mega Thread

well, a couple google searches down says the word originated in 1868. So it was definitely not invented by the Nazis.

And I did not realize it was, so i probably won’t use it anymore. I came into the word as a Red Sox die hard fan. And plenty of times it has come up as part of Yankees vernacular as it related to Aaron Boone, Bucky Dent etc. I have seen it used in many sport rivalry settings.

I don’t usually google the entymology of a word, maybe I should more often.
Hey man, I was being petty and joking around. I have no issues with the term lol I come here for laughs and I have pretty thick skin so it's no ill feelings on my end. Keep using the word, my friend. When I looked it up, I actually started laughing hard as hell. It's actually funny.

I apologize for interrupting, but the word schadenfreude means to take delight in other's misfortune. See:

It had nothing to do with nazis. It happens to be a German word. So nazis probably used the word. There are many foreign words used in American culture that do not have a direct English word translation. For example, the Japanese word otaku means someone with an obsessive interest (usually hear it with respect to anime or manga)

I'm just surprised no one invoked Godwin's law. Have a great day.

Cool… you never know these days.

I agree. USF/UCF fans hate each other as much if not more than UF/UM fans hate FSU. And man those guys hate each other.
As much as anything, there is no respect for each other. During the first set of games we didn't get any respect, even from your players who were nasty hooligans in that era, then 3 conference championships and a Fiesta bowl win later, the tide had turned as we stopped respecting your program and here we are today.

Good bot

With about half the number of transfers as usf has, FSU overtook them for the #1 transfer class. So what is usf going to hang their delusional hat on now?

Probably that they were the #1 recruiting class for a week or so....just like that #2 ranking they still hold on to.

it is amazing to observe. they went full drive delusional literally 1 or 2 days after the Big12 news broke and Weatherford suddenly decided to announce an On Campus stadium using a decade old rendering
That was their "oh sh*t" moment when they realized everything we've said about investing and putting in the effort was true. Though I know some of them wouldn't acknowledge we were saying it.

You can't STOP respecting their program when you never respected it to begin with. 🤣 🤣 🤣
I guess everyone is on their own, but I had respect for what they built in a short period during which they beat us 4 games straight. During my years at UCF ('86-'89), I literally had no idea they existed as a college. I can only assume they had no Engineering program because I looked at all the options in Florida.

I was at UCF 95-98 and never heard of them. Pretty much why I don’t care about them now. I actually heard of FAU and don’t care about them either.

Nah. They will be in the Big 10. They are probably looking for another bottom 10 program in terms of success in the 2 biggest NCAA sports that can only meet FBS attendance requirements by fudging the numbers.

Just when you think they couldn’t get any more delusional they go in deeper....next they will be saying the SEC will kick out Alabama to bring in that athletic and academic juggernaut usf.

C. fans, on the other hand, are cocky, delusional, and untethered from reality. I want no part of what they are about.

We have better academics, in a few months will have a better indoor facility and in a few years will have a better stadium. We have a better AD and a better coach. I'm done with them.

UCF fans are cocky and delusional. Now let me tell you why usf is better at everything…they are utterly clueless.

I've noticed this too. Where does this come from?
Their "football" team is no better than a Div-1 FCS team. They can't pull any fans into their "state of the art NFL stadium". They should scrap plans for a new OCS and just use the soccer stadium. It will hold all of their fans. I'm surprised they gave this coach an extension. Perhaps the only reason was that he is cheap and they are financially bogged down with all of the buyouts, or just tired of it. I'm trying to figure out why they think they are a P5 team. Maybe only because of the rivalry with UCF, they think they should be allowed to tag along with UCF.

I get the football stuff, all of it. I don't understand all of the academic accolade bravado though. I just don't know, is UWF known for something academically?

With all the USF fans talking about them going to a different conference, and how bad the Big12 is. Don't be fooled, they are still hoping for the Big12 to take them.

Don't you know? They are "preeminent". A term made up by the Florida Legislature to maintain control over some funding as far as I can tell. Anyway it is something that means nothing to anyone not living in an ivory tower. Certainly means nothing to anyone looking to hire a graduate.

They are a SMALL handful of spots higher than UCF in the US News and World Report rankings. They were also named an EMERGING Preeminent (not actually Preeminent) school by the Florida higher education system...before such designations were done away with. The one and only thing that got them that status before UCF was they have a much larger endowment than UCF...something UCF's new President has said will be a priority to improve.

Them acting like they are B10 worthy with the most prominent schools in the country is the very definition of delusional. 🤣 🤣 🤣
