I've seen Pence targeted by it bc of his past. And this is a massive country, just bc you are not a shitty human and don't surround yourself with people like that does not mean the problem doesn't exist. One positive of social media is that it exposes these people more often if someone happens to record it
Cops shooting unarmed victims is a rare occurrence, which is why it is newsworthy when it happens. Just like gay hate crimes. If these things were so common then they wouldnt make national news, but we are led to believe that it isnt out of the ordinary.
Many, many crimes never make national news. The issue is that you want to delineate them based on politics. If a white straight guy was legitimately attacked, had a noose put around his neck, and had bleach poured on him, would you have started a thread about it?

I literally disagree. Like, epic literally. But while we are talking about whether someone should type "you were right", I think you should review the first page of this thread and then literally come back and literally admit that I was literally right with literally everything I posted.

But he wasn't attacked because he is gay. I get the fact that its relevant to you but to immediately assume his story is true because of the fact that he's gay does a disservice to yourself and others.
I wish I was. I look at situations like this and while someone is right, it definitely didnt help. The same thing will happen in the near future and we will just be even more antagonistic towards one another when it does. At the same time, you cant just sit by while lies are propogated.
Fair enough. Hopefully there won't be a next time but if there is then it would be good for people to learn from this.
