Could it be that, as our Secretary of State, Pompeo was able to keep Trump 'on his mark' and insist that we needed more than talk before easing sanctions?
Could it be that Kim Yung Un loves Trump because, like Putin, he knows how to play our Blowhard leader to get what he wants?
Yes it would. Be we can't 'wish' it into reality. Trump says Kim Yung Un is "very honorable" "very open" and a "great leader" while ignoring the imprisonment and deadly torture of American student, Otto Warmbier.
I don't discount the small steps that have been made. When we're talking about North Korea and their murderous little thug dictator, anything positive is good news. But to tout Trump's "accomplishments" in North Korean diplomacy is like a big city mayor touting the filling of the city's first pothole after a long winter. It's nice but a whole hell of a lot more needs to be done.

while it looks like trumps negotiations ultimately didnt accomplish what they wanted, the relationship between NK, SK, USA, and Japan are the best they have ever been. While they arent great, again, they are the best theyve been since the 1950s. that would not have happened without trump.

No financial sanctions have been lifted, and Trump -- largely Tillerson with the assistance of China and Russia -- enacted some of the most crushing of anyone.
Trump has 'appeased' in other areas outside of sanctions, like stopping military exercises and other 'posturing.'
I don't understand why there are any 'complaints' about Trump in this area.
No President has gotten the Koreans to do jack ... period.
Trump has just enacted the toughest sanctions ever during his Presidency.
And it's hurting them ... bad.
At least the anti-US rhetoric has been dropping domestically inside of North Korea itself.
That's something no other President did.
And will pay dividends in future generations.
