Public Hearings on January 6th

Biden cant even put an end to hinself shitting his pants. Everything was better under trump. Own it biatch
Typical. This blowhard blasts the House Select Committee on January 6th while being totally clueless how it operates. Then, after being schooled about it, the spineless Chud changes the subject.

Also typical, the Chud can't spell.

The makeup of the committee wasn't ever going to matter, just like it didn't matter who was in charge of the Mueller or Durham investigations. People's minds were already made up so the result is generally just a matter of preaching to the choir.

Let me get this straight: A poster who spent months breathlessly giving us every damn Powell and Rudy Tweet and 'news' story hyping-up the nonexistent 'evidence' that the election was stolen....who also is the same poster who spent months telling us we should all suck-it-up because COVID was 'just the sniffles'.....and who is also the same poster who then spent months telling us the COVID vaccine was...gasp!...potentially more harmful than COVID itself...

......is now---get this---the same poster lecturing the rest of us 'closed-minded' people about how the select committee on January 6th is 'preaching to the choir.'

Gosh, isn't it a shame that the rest of us can't be a Bastion of Open-mindedness like Crazyhole is?

Super. Another post about me. Mostly incorrect, but still flattering.

I think Crazy is right on this one. People who are on the left and watched had there opinion verified.
People on the right saw or heard nothing new and their minds were not changed. In the middle were mostly people who have moved on and they have decided what they think one way or the other.

I watched the first guy and Liz Cheney, I heard and saw nothing new. They showed edited tapes of the worse of the worse, while not showing people being waved up the steps by officers, which did happen and is on tape. They looked at everything that led up to the riot without looking into why nothing was done in advance to stop it, when they knew it very possibly was going to happen. While I disagree that Trump incited a riot, he does bear some responsibility, but I will also give him credit for signing authorization for the national guard to being brought in to help with security on Jan 4. I will also blame Pelosi, the sergeant at arms and Mayor of DC, for not beefing up security and bringing them in. Had there been another group of capitol police and 50 to 100 armed National guardsman at the capitol the whole thing would have never made it up the steps to the capitol building.

Were you surprised at all that shuckster thought it was really compelling TV that verified all of his suspicions?

Jesus, I kick the dog and the mutt wags his tail at the 'attention'? Is that pathetic or what?

Apparently, my last message was too subtle: Get Lost. Nobody wants you here. Go attention whoring in one of your racist or homophobic threads and leave the adults in the room here alone.

Adults? You can't honestly believe that your troop acts like Adults.

But there was new information, so if people on the right didnt see or hear anything new, they either didnt actually watch it, or are choosing to ignore the new information.

Why should they have known to beef up security for an event that is typically just a formality and nobody really pays attention to? Pelosi can also not call in the national guard, so if you are blaming her for that, you are blaming her for something she doesnt have the authority to do.

Pelosi can't call in the guard. That is left to the Secretary of Defense.

I think the questions are whether she received intel ahead of time and if she requested a Nat Guard presence.

I dont know, but I also dont know why she would be worried about security on what is normally a pretty boring day. But they said the security issue will be a part of the upcoming hearings so we will see. But she also isnt in charge of capitol security. She has a role, but she isnt the top person in charge of security. The Senate Majority leader has just as much power in that regard as she does, so why is nobody asking either Schumer and McConnell (McConnell because he was in charge until 1/3 so if this was something they had knowledge of in advance, he should also be asked about it)?

Exactly, Cubs79. A few of the revelations from Friday included:

Trump's Election Fraud Bullsh*t. Anybody tuning in last Friday would have heard direct testimony from Trump's inner circle of advisors -- including his daughter, Ivanka -- that they all knew that Trump's 'election fraud' allegations were bogus from the start. In the blunt testimony of Trump's own Attorney General, Bill Barr, he said they were "bullsh*t." Yet we have a country full of Chuds who still, to this day, believe The Big Lie.

Pardons? Liz Cheney revealed that WH records show that multiple Republican Congressmen sought pardons from the White House for their roles in seeking to overturn the 2020 election. Hmmmmm, one would think that you only ask for a pardon when you know you've done something wrong that could put you in prison.

Where was the White House? According to testimony from Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the only member of the Administration stepping up during the chaos to request military support that Jan. 6th afternoon was the Vice President, Mike Pence. He said the responses he got from WH staffers "reeked of politics."

The attack was pre-planned. Probably the biggest eye-opener was that the attack on the Capitol wasn't a "protest that got out-of-hand" as has been the narrative up until now. We learned that the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers skipped the rally all together and stationed their 'troops' outside of the Capitol to scout out the area and prepare for their assault. Their leaders testified they were doing 'what Trump told his loyal followers he wanted them to do.'

There was some other stuff too but those were the biggest revelations I recall. The next hearing is tomorrow morning.

"The attack was pre-planned".

I believe that, and it makes me even more curious about Ray Epps. Seems like a guy who was telling people to go into the capital tomorrow would be a pretty good person to have testify at least.

He did testify.

I hope we get to see that.

I dont think it was filmed, I think he agreed to it but didnt want to be filmed, so probably nothing to see, but they might read what he said. In saying that, this also just seems to be more of a conspiracy, so I would guess there wasnt much useful information to his testimony.

Hard to say it's a conspiracy when he is on video telling people that they need to go into the capitol.

Anyone who has read any of my Bill Barr schpiels knows I'm no fan of his. But I had to smile at his videotaped testimony this morning. We heard him say last Friday that he thought Trump's election fraud claims were 'bullsh*t'

Today he's on tape 'colorfully' characterizing the various announcements in November and December of 2020 coming from Trump, Rudy, and Powell -- AFTER all the adults in the WH told the President over and over and over again that it was all bogus. Barr descibed their antics as "crazy", "ridiculous" "idiotic" and "a disservice to our country" because there were millions of Americans who were buying the President's bullsh*t (including a number of gullible folks you might recall who were posting here at the time.)

The best quote from former-AG Bill Barr about Trump in their conversations after the election speaks VOLUMES about the state of today's Republican Party:

"He didn't care what the facts were."

If the first part of today's testimony was about "The Big Lie," the last part was about "The Big Con."

We learned today Trump raised over $250 million dollars for the 'Trump Election Defense Fund' which was -- surprise, surprise -- nonexistent. But I'm sure Trump and his lackies and their organizations and charitable funds who directly benefited from this colossal mis-direct greatly appreciated it.

There are no adults in this room.

And what they didn't even look into, was the fact they knew it was planned and going to happen and Pelosi, Capitol police chief, and DC mayor did nothing to prevent it from happening. Why? They wanted it to happen.

Nevermind the stop the steal rally where Trump instructed MAGAts to march to the Capitol. Time to blame a libtard.

WTF? We've heard sworn testimony that the POTUS was sitting in the kitchen off the Oval Office on Jan. 6th enjoying himself watching the riot play out on TV and did nothing to help the Capitol Police or try reasoning with the mob. But your response is to regurgitate Trump's own discredited talking points for the umpteenth time?

It truly boggles the mind that people can STILL find ways to try to defend this corrupt idiot. This isn't about blind loyalty to a sports team come hell or high water, this is about our country! (And I damn well know a thing or two about blind loyalty these past five years being a lifelong Husker fan.) I thought we're all supposed to be Americans first, regardless of our politics.

Trump could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and not lose a single one of these MAGAts from his base. Just remember that. It’s like a sports team to them and even when they are down 4 touchdowns after 1/6 they must cheer him on, make excuses, blame the refs, etc.

It is so confusing. How did a guy who ran business after business into the ground and had to become a reality TV host to maintain any type of relevancy, somehow convince so many people to ignore their own eyes and ears to conclude he is somehow a super honest almost infallible person?

The pool cleaner will just ignore all of this because he’s too lazy and brain dead.
