Public Hearings on January 6th

And what they didn't even look into, was the fact they knew it was planned and going to happen and Pelosi, Capitol police chief, and DC mayor did nothing to prevent it from happening. Why? They wanted it to happen.

They have said they are going to talk about the capitol security, the hearings arent over yet.

It is so confusing. How did a guy who ran business after business into the ground and had to become a reality TV host to maintain any type of relevancy, somehow convince so many people to ignore their own eyes and ears to conclude he is somehow a super honest almost infallible person?
If you are looking for someone who was/is a successful business person, Trump belongs at the bottom of any list. There is plenty written about this but when the people you are dealing with cannot read, it’s pointless.

What kind of “troops” pre-plan for 24 hours, an “assault” to overthrow the U.S. Government with an un-armed “insurrection”? What a joke.

This is what they are wasting their time on while we deal with actual issues like $6 gas, tumbling stock market, +8% inflation, etc.

I just dont get it. There is no way most of these people looked at Trump as anything more than a joke before 2015 or so, and now they act like he is the second coming.

You want the government to get more involved in our capitalist economy? Should Biden nationalize our oil and gas? If not, then why are you blaming capitalism on the president?

You want congressional hearings based on the stock market going down and 8% inflation? These issues aren’t present because of “wasted time” on the part of the 1/6 commission.

I don’t want any hearings.

So you believe the current administration is allowing oil companies to operate freely? Do you believe government intervention during Covid isn’t a contributor to current inflation? I want the government less involved by removing red tape and regulations to allow the free market to operate as designed.

The free money giveaways that occurred under Trump and Biden simply propped up an economy everyone expected to enter recession once Covid hit. It delayed the effects by 2 years which worked out perfectly for Republican mid term prospects. US oil output is higher now that before Covid. High prices and inflation is a global problem at the moment. It’s possible there are some ideas that would have mitigated the pain people are feeling in the market and with inflation, but in reality we have a market that has basically done nothing but boom for 13 years and has been propped up for the past few. At some point it comes to a head. That point is now.

Domestic oil production is just as high now under Biden than it ever was under Trump. There are also over 9000 leases on wells that oil companies are not using. You guys want to blame all this on Biden, when in reality it is the oil companies who are benefiting from this. Seriously, who has more interest in high gas prices? The controlling political party in an election year, knowing this can hurt them in the elections? Or Oil companies who are making money hand over fists?

Most of the covid intervention happened under Trump. Granted, some of that is just timing, the vaccines were out when Biden took office, but you still cant blame him for stuff that happened before he was president.

Wow, an intelligent post with some good points in the water cooler. A rare gem.

This is a world wide issue, but for some reason Trumpers cant get their mind around that.

Oil companies aren’t impacted by free market dynamics. OPEC fixes the price and their margins just grow. Which is why they have posted record profits and companies like Exxon have seen 60% stock appreciation at a time when the broad market is down 25%. There is no oil shortage. Prices will be artificially high until midterms unfortunately so buckle up.

Trump could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and not lose a single one of these MAGAts from his base. Just remember that. It’s like a sports team to them and even when they are down 4 touchdowns after 1/6 they must cheer him on, make excuses, blame the refs, etc.
Close. It's beyond a sports teams, it's a cult. These people are brainwashed cult members who have rejected reality and facts.

So did OPEC drop the price of oil to -40$ in 2020?

And yes, the world economy is in the shitter, thanks for noticing. I'm sure you will find a way to blame $10 gas in Norway and double digit inflation in India on Biden.

The new line from the diehard Trumpsters is this Colbourns Dream guy's "screw these hearings we should be focusing on the economy!" as if the yahoos in Congress could do anything on that front.

Talk about disingenuous comments. They are designed to deflect attention away from the embarrassing spectacle we're all seeing of their Emperor with No Clothing.

A lease doesn't equal oil or one that you can make money on. He didn't approve new leases and made financing a challenge.

The hearings certainly are an embarrassing spectacle. It's too bad that this is what they think people want them to spend their time on.

You haven’t watched them. So how would you know? They are essentially depositions of people explaining what happened that day and what led up to it.

Go back and pick stock funds, You can be a failure there without bothering the rest of the people. College education and no experience = Trained monkey.
Congrats on predicting a recession after the market was down 20%. Took a lot of guts. Lol. I pulled half my brokerage account into I bonds for my wife and I in December and January in anticipation of this year. Just trying to help you chuds out a little bit.

THey are embarrassing alright, but not for the people you think are being embarrassed.

I dont think many of them understand capitalism.

as opposed to the emperor with no brain?
Hey, goodknightfl, show me all the big Biden supporters here. Point out all the posters here who are fist-pumping the current state of our country.

If you are unhappy with "the emperor with no brain," who the fcuk do you think is responsible for it? Was Biden put in office because he was the best candidate -- or because he was the one with the best chances of beating Trump?

Is Biden in the WH because, as your boy still claims, massive election fraud? Or did the clear majority of Americans worry about the future of our democracy if we DIDN'T elect Joe Biden? THAT's how dire our choice was in November, 2020.

The DOJ should be investigating and charging anyone involved. Political dissidents that try to overthrow the government should either be imprisoned or lined up against the wall. A show of will like that would go much further on the world stage than holding hearings that they have already admitted will not lead to any criminal referrals.

The DOJ is investigating and there is an investigation in Georgia as well, and many people have already been charged.

I didn’t mention Trump once. I mentioned the waste of time these hearings are. An unarmed takeover of the American government 😂😂😂. Our elected officials should be doing something, anything beneficial. That’s why they were elected.

Which part of the hearings are a waste of time? Have you watched any? I assume since you think it was just a bunch of people taking an afternoon stroll that you have not.

LOL You mention the waste of time these hearings--about Trump's role in the Jan. 6th insurrection--are.
An unarmed takeover of the American government 😂😂😂.
Go laugh about this with the Capitol Police on duty that day. I'm sure they'd get a big chuckle out of it.

Yeah, they have so much better things to do than protect our democracy from another crazy coup stunt like we witnessed post-election 2020.
