School Shooting - Coral Springs

If it was so cut and dry - there would be no debate. Once again, you're letting your own personal feelings dictate the discussion. Sorry Wayne - but in all of these threads about the gun debate - you're completely ignoring what people are trying to say and rebutting with what you think as fact. When it's not.
the constitution is very black and white. its been ruled on many times and it always comes back the same. so while you think its up to debate, judges have already ruled otherwise.

again, once youre an adult, all the rights apply to you. they are obviously going to try and move the age, but im pretty certain that part will be struck down in the courts as it should.

dicks/walmart/anyone else can move the age all they want. the states cant.

there is a difference between a right, something granted in the constitution, and a privilege. drinking is considered a privilege vs while self defense is a right.

o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read.

12 pages here.
Another 30-something pages in The Dungeon.

Right-wing gun-****ers still won't budge an inch, make up every excuse in the book for why they can never possibly give up their big dicks, and don't care about murdering children.

In other words, they are doing the same thing they do after every time a school full of children get mowed down.

You're just not right here. Yes - you have the right to own a gun - however - there can be restrictions on such ownership. There already are and there can be more. It's a single line - which can be interpreted in many ways.

Meanwhile - if a court does rule in favor of allowing restrictions - I'm sure the "right" would just yell, "LIBERAL JUDGES!".

Yawn.

What videos?

I think the NRA is taking the wrong PR angle on this for what it's worth. They shouldn't be attacking. Whether they like it or not most American's do want some sort of change - the degree of that is up for debate.

I'm honestly quite shocked they haven't done a "we understand where you're coming from" and tried to latch on to ONE change they are willing to make.

Who are they attacking? What videos?

The new Dana Loesch video. The media, Hollywood elites, athletes, etc. etc.

I think it's the wrong angle for this particular subject/time.

Lol at that being a terrorist video, nutjobs. It's not a message directed at you. It's for their base. They don't care about swaying the anti-gun crowd.

yes there are restrictions like no full auto and the age for handguns because both pose a significantly higher risk over a standard rifle.

i dont think you will be able to bend the age rule for basically all rifles to 21.

no one wants to see kids get killed. that is an insane thing to say.

most people, even republicans agree to making background checks better. hell there was a bill to make the ncic system better, but a democrat threw in actual gun control measures into it vs the actual updates most people would agree to. now it will go no where and that is sad because we all lose.

I'll say I think people who call the NRA a "terrorist organization" (even though that's not what the father was saying there) are dumb but it's just as dumb as the videos the NRA are putting out.

It's for the "Trump base" - the NRA's base is much larger than that and they're alienating a good portion of people with videos like that right now. It's just not the right tactic at the moment. Guess time will tell...

A sitting Democratic Governor just pathetically came out and said "there's no difference" between the NRA and a terrorist organization.

Why wouldn't they be pissed off and calling people out? The lynch mob mentality directed at the NRA is absurd. Many of these gun control kids and people would have us believe that Cruz didn't do anything- it was all the NRA.

You know...both can be in the wrong here?

Oh right. You only have one view on everything.

no good deed goes unpunished. 2 swat team members from a different but neighboring city are suspended for heading directly to the school to help.

meanwhile you had the first cop say on the radio that yea he knew where the shots were coming from but stayed out side. then the captain on the radio gave the order to create a perimeter.

but hey, the government will take care of us.

REPUBLICANS WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT GUN CONTROL!!! THEY DON"T CARE ABOUT KIDS DYING!!! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING THEIR DICKS BIGGER!!!
Scott has shown more of a backbone and flexibility than Marco Rubio...I think his experience as a Governor he has shown that he is more in touch with his constituents. He also did a great job with Hurricane prep and response. Rubio seems to only care about Cuba and Venezuela sanction bills.

scott was amazing during the hurricane. i cant think of a single way in which he couldve done a better job.

that said, im not happy about the 21 to buy a gun rule. ive stated multiple times, i dont think its legal. most of the other things in the bill i am ok with.

Rubio only cares about pandering for votes.

Oh give me a break

First off, Rubio is a Senator which is no way relevant to the duties of a Governor. And he’s been unfairly shit on by these anti-gun zealots, including the CNN lynch mob “town hall” where he had cretins outright declaring that HE was to blame for the deaths at that school.

Yet he actually showed up and has since tried to then that into action. Something most jackass politicians never do.

Do you know why he cares about Cuba and Venezuela? Because Florida has millions of people here who care about what goes on there! How awful- a Senator who champions policy that his residents want!!!!

more people die from overdoses than with guns. we probably need to get some kids to protest for some common sense heroin control...

Correct. Now apply this same logic to terrorism and you will see what I've been saying all along.

85, honey - darling, don't "I thought you were better than this." me. I'm not moving any goal posts at all. Of course there are some people who want to take away all guns, there have always been and there will always be. I have never denied that. I'm merely stating that if you want to tell me to stop being all doom and gloom about something, maybe you should take a word of your own advice?
Don’t even try. It could be 1% and he’ll keep going about you saying “nobody”. 44% of 33% of the people answering the poll saying they’ll be in favor (1/3 of them somewhat in favor) means “take your guns”. He’ll keep coming back to that.

He should be more worried about the 14% of conservatives trying to take his guns.

BTW, a teacher who is also a police officer just discharged a firearm in class when he was teaching the students how to take a gun from an attacker.

Many schools are "walking out" of class to protest the shooting at Parkland.

If your school is on spring break, should you "walk in" to class?

what exactly are they walking out of class to protest? the complete failure of the fbi and sheriffs office?

The gun law issue is more of a recurring theme than the FBI and Sheriffs office messing up.

i know why they are walking out. if they were smart, which they arent, they would be protesting outside the sheriffs office demanding that the officers involved are fired as well as the head sheriff resign.

They're plenty smart - it's actually getting stuff done. You just don't like it.

I've got family in HS in northern Pinellas. Many kids are "walking out" to attend a speech put on by Everytown USA, a Bloomgberg organization implicitly hostile to the 2nd Amendment, and the keynote speaker is an avowed socialist who has frequently tried to claim that the 2nd Amendment never actually allowed for citizens to own firearms.

But woops- I'm not supposed to point out that the left wing groups are hijacking this under the guise of "student activism!"

sure there was that recent bill and i liked most of what it did. ive stated i hate the age restriction and i believe the nra is now appealing it in the courts. we will see if its upheld or not.

now its just an excuse to get out of class. to call for a ban on guns is retarded especially when the real cause of their pain/suffering is right down the street at the bso.

I'm glad you're taking the spot of grumpy old man yelling at those young whippersnappers.

i think they did accomplish something, but are still doing a walk out for what exactly? meanwhile some of them are dressing up like the hitler youth movement. lol

Huh? Hitler Youth Movement?

High Schoolers should be politically active. People not being active enough is an issue in this country. It's good to see them get involved, hopefully it inspires them to stay involved.
