UCF vs UF in the Gasparilla Bowl???

Who else is super excited about uf's hire? I am absolutely loving this hire by uf, just from that minute clip.

I hope he is right. I hope Billy the Hillbilly and the swamp rats make a bunch of mistakes.

DG will not be there. The best player on the team quit on you, you don't ever allow them to step foot back on campus.

Bitter people UCFail to understand the other side. Every story has 2 or more sides. Ever think that the coaching changes aren't what Dillion signed up for?

I appreciate everything that student-athletes have done for UCF. Even the ones who didn't play or transferred.

That's completely fair on what DG signed up for, and I'm honestly fine with him leaving.

I do think, he should have waited till the end of the bowl season though. UF is our biggest game this year IMO, and he should play if he can.

Early signing period forces players to make decisions before bowl season. Just like coaches are making decisions, ND theoretically could have made the playoffs and Kelly was gone.

I just don’t like the fact that he was cleared to play and he didn’t play for the final three weeks in games that were important to his teammates that he was the captain of. I am ok with players leaving, they have a right to, coaches leave so they should be able to as well. I think they should have to sit out a year if the coach doesn’t leave though.

Whose call was it, Gabriel or Malzahn? If he tells Malzahn he's contemplating leaving the program, can see Malzahn sticking with Keene. Particularly after how it was in Febrauary when he was hired.

He should wait until ESD passed and schools had already locked in on transfer targets?

Im pretty sure when he wasn’t listening to coaches and goofing off during practices they knew he was leaving.

don’t know if it is accurate info but apparently he never even practiced when he was cleared ..only did rehab and strength training at UCF and that’s it. then would go throw on his own at a High School

That makes it sound like there was a pretty big disconnect between the staff and him. Odds are you don't suddenly openly refuse to listen to the staff after spending 8 months doing everything they say, without some interactions between both sides that went negative.

He was asked to wear the Red QB Jersey to practice and he threw it on ground and walked away. They knew for a while he was leaving.

Who is the source of all this info? Crazy if true, makes me not like him much more. Too bad, I liked this guy a lot and pumped him up since signing.

Ever look back at the tape when Malzahn announced he's been cleared to practice? Look at his facial expression when he says it. At the time, it screamed to me that there was something more behind that comment...

it is pretty clear what probably happened . He was bitter and moody about his injury & had too much time on his hands to think. From what I have heard Gus did nothing wrong

I’m not exactly sure why dirt comes out after guys leave but when here no one says anything.

Can we just be real about DG. There is an immaturity and lack of leadership in his demeanor that extends all the way back to the hiring process last year. He wanted Lebby and was vocally crying about it on social media “removing” UCF stuff when he didn’t get his way.

He is a “me” guy. You can see it all over him. This move is about furthering his image through NIL and trying to make $. And where was he trying to go? Ole Miss, to be with Lebby who was probably illegally recruiting him. I won’t put anything past an Art Briles family member who looked the other way while his team was raping women.

The irony of all this is Lebby now leaving for OU. I’d bet a lot of $, that DG doesn’t follow him there. He probably doesn’t even get a phone call. And yes, I’m laughing a little that this might blow up in the selfish prick’s face.

Just a fyi, on UCF fb page they are showing a bigger allotment of seats available through UCF than they did yesterday. Makes me wonder if we sold out our allotment so far. Surely a brag post coming if that is true. Can UCF out sell the gators in this game?

Should coaches have to sit out a year?

We need to stop this double standard crap. Not only is it UCFoolish but it holds the sport back. All people regardless of title should be treated with the same dignity and respect and by the same rules

I recently watched the last 2 episodes of ESPN+ “Our Time” and DG is shown extensively rehabbing, lifting weights, throwing, and running. The coaches were saying that he was “cleared to play” and you could tell that they expected to see him on the field. Perhaps easing him back in during the UConn game and then really bring him back strong for the Black Friday Game.
Then DG makes a comment about not wanting to rush things and that he‘s disappointed he can’t throw quite like he could before. Said he was about 90% back to normal!
Most players don’t play 100% healthy all the time. Most would be chomping at the bit to get back on the field once they’re medically cleared. Especially knowing you could suit up for a huge rivalry game in front of your home crowd.
DG would have definitely been our best QB option even if he was a little rusty. It’s now obvious that he had “checked out” long ago.
Hes a gifted passer for sure, but not the type of team player anyone should want. And he can’t carry Milton’s jock strap IMHO.
Aloha, adios, sayonara, whatever… Don’t let the door hit ya.

If we win, we tweet endlessly how we are the premier Florida team.

If we lose, highlight our injuries, first year coach, QB quit on his team, not motivated, FL did things we never saw before.

That's the playbook
…and we just weren’t motivated. After all, the game is on a Thursday night. If it was Friday or Saturday, we’ll that’s a completely different story.

I didn’t want him out there before bowl game. Now it obviously doesn’t matter. He wasn’t lifting heavy weights yet and his arm strength wasn’t there. That’s what made him good.

Looks like ticketmaster has opened up the entire upper deck for ticket sales now. Dec 8th, tomorrow we get assigned seats from buying thru UCF. The 2nd hand market ticket sales are high priced right now. Wondering what the ticket sales have been for this bowl game. Are the gators motivated? Reported today that the coaches that remain for the gators and are coaching this bowl game are not being retained after game. He He...obviously works in our favor. (I hope).

This is them already making excuses incase it doesn't go their way. It's still 75% going to go their way.

Curious, has anyone received their tickets through the school? On my account it has the amount of tickets I ordered and say general admission, your ticket is not available to be managed.

All's quiet on the UCF ticket sales and assignment. In the past there have been brag post on how many tix have been sold. Not this year so far. It's dec 8th. where are my assigned seats?

I’m in the same boat, haven’t received notice yet either nor has credit card been charged. I’m thinking this is may be a sign they have a lot of requests to go through, more than normally for a bowl game.

In the past, I remember taking a week or so to get tickets. Wouldn’t worry about it, but you may be able to call the ticket office for a timeline.

Yes, the UCF ticket office is being eerily quiet...

WE ARE DOOMED...

Matt Severance is a well-connected writer and handicapper who has worked in the industry since 2005. He wrapped up the 2021 college football regular season as one of SportsLine's top experts, ending the year on a 49-33-1 run on his college football picks, returning almost $1,200 to $100 bettors during that span. Anybody who followed him saw some HUGE returns!

So before fill out your 2021-22 Bowl Confidence Pool picks, you NEED to see what Severance has to say.

We can tell you Severance likes Florida over UCF in the 2021 Gasparilla Bowl. In fact, he has assigned 41 confidence points to that selection.

"UCF might have won this game with QB Dillon Gabriel, but he's in the transfer portal," Severance told SportsLine.

Looks like Anthony Richardson might be out of the bowl game for UF. Also, looks like some Florida fans might be kind of worried about this game.

Gators NEXT MAN UP...

Florida Gators leading WR Jacob Copeland plans to transfer

Just a heads up, if you actually read the note Copeland wrote, he says my last game as a Gator is approaching “soon”. He announced he was entering the portal, but he wrote it as if he planned to transfer after the bowl game (from the wording).

Normally a coaching staff wouldn’t want any part of a situation like that, but I’m sure what’s left of this current UF staff couldn’t care less if he plays after he announced he’s transferring (not really much precedent for something like that).

Or it could have just been poor wording, because why play a meaningless bowl game if you plan on leaving anyway.
