"What was he doing wrong?"

For those concerned about using churches for political purposes

that scene right before his speech is something I never thought I would see in the United States of America. full on intimidation and militarization

and the speech was full on Fascism

How so? The insurrection act is from 1807, a full 110 years before fascism was a thing. Its also the act that was used to put down the KKK.

When has he ever actually opened the Bible? I doubt he knows the difference between the Old and New Testaments or even where either begins. He's not a Christian.

Whaaaat? You telling me the guy who brags about sexual assaulting women isn't a Christian? shockedpikachu.jpg

Bro there's no award for being the biggest dipshit in the WC, stop trying to so hard.

Being choked to death is likely the reason for the cardiac arrest....
I don't know man, if the tox screen really did show fentanyl in his system, that is likely the primary reason for the cardiac arrest obviously exacerbated by the stress of the interaction and restraint. With the one officer saying "This is why you don't do drugs," you can assume they knew the guy was intoxicated on something. That doesn't excuse them by any means; from a common sense angle, I would think it would put more of a burden on them to be on the lookout for medical events and respond quickly and appropriately.

Street fentanyl is a nasty and extremely dangerous drug that requires medical professionals and first responders in many places to don PPE if there's even a chance of residue on a person.

"Nearly half of all opioid-related deaths are caused by this drug, and the risk is so high that first responders have to change the way they do their jobs[ . EMTs, police, and forensic pathologists are at risk of potentially coming into contact with fentanyl when responding to overdoses. Fentanyl is so powerful that accidentally ingesting or breathing in only a tiny amount of residue can send a fully grown adult to the emergency room."

Nurses have died just from applying fentanyl patches on patients.

A priest of that church was sitting on the patio and secret service came and kicked him out of his own church.

Trump then stood in front of an empty building holding an unopened bible. Took a few pictures and then went back to the WH.

Wow such a powerful religious moment he truly is a man of God. Removing a priest from a church for a photo op without asking permission from the owner of that property or even letting them know his plan. On what grounds were the protesters removed let alone the priest?

It was actually a pocket Bible. The damn thing just looked yuge in his hands.

Trump walked to the church, not to pray, but to take pictures. He held up a bible, not as a holy book, but as a prop. He never even opened the bible as he stood in front of a boarded up church. The bishop of the church called his stunt shameful. Nothing of value was gained from this weird event and Americans had their right to assemble trampled for it. Peaceful protesters hit with teargas and rubber bullets.

We have crisis after crisis after crisis because Trump has no idea how to lead. He is unable to calm a nation.

There is a reason that every former president and every former presidential nominee from a major party voted against Trump in 2016. They know the responsibilities of the job and knew he couldnt handle it.

Seems like they were right.

How many people were gassed and assaulted by police for that photo?
Is that the line now? Sweet. No more complaining about the president quoting the Bible unless he's gassed and assaulted someone. Thats something I can get behind.

Huh? Lots of presidents and politicians have quoted the bible, but not all of them have gassed protestors for nothing more than a photo op. I think you are missing the reason people are angry about this.

The post that I literally responded to was a bitchfest about Trump using the Bible.

I'm angry about it as well. I think maybe you are missing the point.

The book is open. Shes not holding it up like its about to be bid on on the price is right.

Trump bristled when he heard that Speaker of the House, Democrat, Nancy Pelosi, prays for him. He basically responded that she was full of shit.

Ironically, when told that some of his old political opponents were praying for him after 9/11, George W. Bush said he considered such comments as the ultimate show of respect and class.

It's really strange how two deeply religious men would respond to prayers in such dramatically different ways, isn't it 85?

How many of them had their home surrounded so that they could not walk out by said protestors in the middle of multiple nights of violent riots breaking out of said protests? I’m guessing the number is small.

Also, it is very unlikely that it was tear gas that was used.

Every single news article described the use of tear-gas to remove the peaceful protesters.

If that wasn't the case, every news organization in the country -- including Fox News -- has got some serious retracting to do.

Seriously? A month ago you were calling for the federal government to enforce a stay-at-home order. This is what that looks like. These people weren't following the social distancing guidelines that you wanted enforced but now you're upset at what it looks like when they do?

there is a ton of video/pics and journalists(not just American) + protesters saying tear gas was used at Lafayette Square. This administration will deny it despite the evidence

And the MAGA hatters will try desperately to change the subject. :)

So you are good with an American president having protestors (who were being peaceful at the time) gassed for a photo op? What are other good reasons for a president to gas American people? Just curious.

And like others have pointed out, everyone is reporting it was tear gas, so what do you think it was?

Journalists are idiots. Beyond that, the Park Police said they used smoke and not tear gas. Beyond that, if you watch the videos, it’s obvious that is wasn’t a CS deployment from the lack of clear and visceral reaction of the people in the deployment area. You may get one or two out of a hundred that have little or no reaction. It’s super obvious from the rest.

Just wondering where are all the right wing inbreds telling us not to worry about these protests, way more people will die from the flu this year.
