It wasnt an insult. Im also white. Im pointing out your (and my) lack of perspective on the topic of police interactions with black men. The difference is that I listen to what the black community is saying and dont try to speak out from a position of ignorance. Having never experienced racism first hand its hard to say things like "just listen to the cops and you'll be fine." That is not a gaurentee for black men. Philando Castile comes to mind.

Cop shouldnt have even chased closely once the officer had been disarmed with a non-deadly weapon. Hes not a threat to the community its not like he was suspected of rape. Hes drunk. Let him run and meet him at his house.

It’s not even debatable to me. The only person to feel bad for here is the officer that has to live with ending someone’s life and losing his job. He’ll sue for wrongful termination and win too. I’ll break down my thoughts on the situation and you can either break out the crayons (we all know how much you love to do that), or call me an idiot again without any substance. Either way is perfectly fine with with me.
1 - don’t drink and drive
2 - when being arrested for a crime, don’t resist
3 - don’t punch police officers
4 - don’t steal their weapons
5 - don’t point said stolen weapon at them and fire it
If this jackass doesn’t do any of these, he’s alive right now. If he does 4 of the 5, he’s alive and in jail (probably released by now). I do not give a shit that he was running away, if he hits the officer with the taser he can then take his gun and who knows what happens. The argument that “the taser is single use and he was no longer a threat” is complete bullshit. For one, the officer drew his gun and fired the second the suspect turned towards him with the taser (you can watch the video and clearly see this), and two, he has already proven that he is a threat to the officers and everyone else in the area when he punched the officer, stole his weapon, and deployed the weapon.

I don't disagree with a lot of this; however, I don't think he should have been shot. I think the situation had the potential to be diffused without a casualty. Just my opinion...

If I was shot at and they missed, I would have considered myself lucky and immediately dropped to the ground. Anyone doing all of those things should expect to die
and that’s fine, maybe it was possible. What’s undeniable is that the suspect put the officers in that position. No one can say how they would react if it happened to them. Maybe you’re right and they could’ve arrested him without firing (although it didn’t work the first time they tried) but I don’t blame the officer for shooting at all.
In Buffalo one of the demands for these idiots is for Deyanna Davis, the black woman that assaulted 3 cops by driving into a police barricade, be released from jail and charges be dropped.
