"What was he doing wrong?"

Exactly! Everybody here loves calling me an old fart. 27 is pretty damn young to me. :)
LOL--Stop twisting it??!? He died while reaching for a taser? Damn, I could have sworn he was shot in the back by officers as he was running away.

I said he reached for a taser, he died. Two separate things, separated by a comma. Not once did I say that’s how he died. Move that goalpost another 10 yards

Great. So what about the brutality we saw from this jackass in assaulting cops? Same or different? What about the brutality we've seen across the country where black criminals kill white cops? Ignore that or what?

I dont know what was going through this guys mind, and neither do you, and we never will. But if you were in a situation where you feared for your life, I am pretty sure you would try to get out of that situation anyway you could.

Who ignores that? What is going on is terrible on a lot of different levels, but only one side has a systemic history of doing these things, and that is the side that represents the state.

They can't defend this using the truth, so they have to lie.

It's the standard MAGAt tactic. If you watch the video it's clearly murder.

yes, police officers have no history of being killed and attacked while on duty. I’ve never seen it happen.

So we should excuse it because he was black and the cops were white? I guess he just didn't know any better because he's black, right? The cops obviously should have known because they aren't black. Different standards for different skin colors.

Its amazing the level of racism the left embraces without even knowing it.

After he resisted arrest and attacked the cops, they should have shot him right there. He wanted a gun and grabbed a taser

A single-shot taser versus a loaded hand gun.

do we know that it was a single shot taser? I believe it was @sk8knight who said his wife has one that fires twice and can then be used as a stun gun until the battery goes out.

but you’re right, the cop should’ve let himself be tased and killed by the suspect or let him go to harm someone else in the community.

Didnt know better? My point clearly flew over your head, plenty of people who "knew better" have been killed by police, but just gloss over the actual point of my post I guess.

Nobody said that, I clearly said a "systemtic" history of doing so.

wikipedia but it was the first google result:

According to the FBI, which publishes the data in the Uniform Crime Reports, from 1980–2018, an average of 85 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed per year. Those killed in accidents in the line of duty are not included in that number.[2]

I think that qualifies as “systemic”

Please explain to me the rationale behind completely restructuring our laws that I assume you adhere to because a small handful of idiots can't abide. It just seems like the entire movement is predicated around the idea that black people aren't capable of following the rules that you feel are appropriate for a civilized society and they should be held to a lower standard.

Did George floyd not know that commiting a crime was bad? Did this guy in Atlanta not know that fighting a police officer could end in death? Maybe not. I have my doubts about that, but if you insist on claiming that there should be a different standard of justice for people that have darker skin then I'm gonna call you a racist.

Unless you are implying there is an organization or something targeting cops, then no it doesnt. Average citizens arent a "system".

This thread is posters presenting facts of what happened, vs emotional fallacies and logical fallacies.

For those saying this is a systemic thing, you do realize when 13% of the population commits roughly 48% of the crime that despite It not being a good look, It isn’t a systematic thing.

A study done (I’ll have to find It again) showed that more white people died from police brutality per year through 2017 than blacks. However, the black population had a higher percentage density since there are less of them in the US.

Jesus some of you people need to read a book and get your head out of the asses of Fox News CNN Slate MSNBC and all the biased bullshit out there.

You don’t like that a man died, we get It. Nobody does. The man reached for and discharged a weapon at an officer and then turned to run and was shot. All within a minute or so. Sorry It didn’t happen where he was shot in the chest for a better visual for some of you but this is the reality of what happens when you escalate from fists to weapons. That’s the real world. Some of you need to wake up and realize this shit happens separate of cops. Look at Chicago, look at Waco. Black on Black Gang Crime escalates like this. In Waco with that nut job cult. They escalated too weapons and got wiped out.

Who the **** said anything about a different standard of justice? This is the second time in this conversation you have just made up something to ascribe to me that I havent been arguing. The goal is for everyone to be treated equally.

The movement is not based around the idea that black people arent capable of following rules. Again, you are completely uneducated about what is actually going on. The movement is about black people being treated unjustly.

This is because cops and the justice system are arresting blacks and convicting all of them of crimes they didn’t commit. There can’t be any other explanation. Lol

Its gotten to the point of being beyond ridiculous. If somebody says the n-word they are immediately accused of being a racist. If somebody says that black people need more help from white people because they can't succeed on their own, or want to hold black people to a lower standard than white people they are praised.

Not everyone is convicted of crimes at the same rate. FOr instance, there have been numerous studies that show that white people use illegal drugs at the same rate as African Americans, but arent arrested or convicted at nearly the same rates. So when you say "commit crimes", you arent really detailing crimes being committed, you are detailing people being charged with a crime, and these are not the same thing.

There are also other socio-economic factors at play as well that people dont like to acknowledge.

Just remember poor kids are as smart as white kids. - Joe Biden

If you have to think about who to vote for between me and trump, you ain’t that black - Joe Biden

hey girl, let me smell that shoulder - Joe Biden

If this is what you take from my posts then you cant read for shit.
You are basically holding blacks at a lower standard in regards to knowing what a crime is that may result in putting them in an uncompromising situation with the police, correct?

You would think that if they think that police are TARGETING THEM, then they would be LESS AGGRESSIVE, right?

But, nooooooo.

No, its not. If a white guy had done the exact same thing as the black guy in Atlanta nobody would know about it and the Wendys would be selling baconators right now instead of being a smoldering pile of ash. Literally the only reason that you and others on the left care about this is because you think black people shouldn't be held to the same standard as white people and justify the barbaric response because it happened to a black guy. Sorry bro, you're a racist.

Again you cant read for shit. I am arguing the justice system holds blacks at a lower standard, not me.

By the way, don’t you mean higher standard?

Black people are held to a much harsher standard in this country than white people, you just dont want to acknowledge that so you will just call me a racist instead. You are uneducated, its as simple as that.

NO proof of it? Have you never read a history book?

actually according to a study posted in 2017, Females of all races get less sentences than White males who get a slightly less sentence on average than Black males with no prior sentencing data taken into account per the USSC website.

So white people get less sentences? How is that arguing against my point?
