NHL Playoffs

A couple of things.

1) I read it at the same speed no matter how slowly you typed it and I don't stop for periods. ( amirite ladies? )
2) If you add One Of, I can fully get behind it. I don't subscribe to the idea that there is one that is clearly the best. The top 3-5 are all great, it just depends on the night and the guys playing in front of them. But yes, Lundquist is in that list as is Price. Bishop is not, though he has made an argument thus far in the playoffs.
3) Take your "the team is from New York so they must be the best in their league" blinders off. This is going to be one hell of a series.

You really take the fun out of trolling.

I know I'm the only one happy about the result but game 1 was solid. Really good goaltending on both ends. Rangers got a lucky bounce on that second goal.

hopefully the TB defense learned that they need to start putting NY players on their ass when they're hanging in front of the net. Both goals were due to NY having a guy open right in front of Bishop.

Par for the course with this Lightning defense. It's been going on all season/playoffs long. If I've screamed once I've screamed a thousand times to stand guard in front of the net. For some reason they never hear me though.

I think the Lightning will be fine. NY poured it on as heavy as possible in Game 1 and still barely escaped with a win.

Get this next one, come back to TB, and I think we're in good shape.

Was it me or did the game today seem to played at half speed compared to the TB/NYR game?

Didn't watch most of the game today (saw the 3rd period). Ducks scored 4 again (one empty net). Is there just no defense in the west or is their offense that good?

I know I'm a Rangers fan so it's easy to see it differently than you did rooting for TB, but I really don't think the Rangers "poured it on" like that's all they have. They played the entire last series the exact same way.

It's just you. As to Joe's comment, Chicago's good for a game or two like this a series. They absolutely deluged the Anaheim net the first period with nothing to show for it and gave up some garbage goals. That's why they play a series.

Rangers might have the worst PP of all time. 6 for 42 in the playoffs and give up a goal with a 2 man advantage.

I love my Hockey Horns app. I get the Lighting horn even on the road.

One sided called game, the cross check is what caused the high stick, which led to the second NY goal. The nhl has an agenda here.

Really? I know TB picked up 3 right off the bat but all 3 were obvious. It's been pretty balanced since then. After the high stick (which it clearly was, though maybe he sold it like a soccer player) the refs missed a trip behind the TB goal.

Side note: poor linesman got destroyed. Not sure if it's a knee or broken leg but it wasn't pretty.

Penalties have been:
3 In a row on TB
3 of the next 4 on NYR
2 on TB
1 on NYR

And the Rangers missed a huge chance short handed.... Nash blows

That was a good old fashion ass kicking. Really thought the Rangers would tie it up after the way the closed out the 2nd. Oh well. Gotta hope for at least a split down here to get home ice back.

There was nothing wrong with how that game was called. They called alot of stuff, let some go and flat out missed calls on both sides. The Rangers weren't ready for TB to come out for a straight physically demanding game.

do you really think the nhl wants an Anaheim/ Tampa series? In Ny all I hear is how big a Ranger/Hawks series would be.

lol.

Hell of a game last night. Very important road win and heading back home with some momentum. Cant wait for them to return to home ice.

It's not so much the calls against TB, it was the way the game was called. That game was called differently than game 1 as well as every other playoff game so far. Even the announcers during the first intermission made the same comment.

The officiating is fine. There was more of an agenda in the Detroit series, and it was obvious.

Tampa is pretty nasty right now. A defense has to deal with the triplets line, and then, get to deal with Boyle and Stamkos on the next line. I don't really know how a defense is supposed to match up on that.

Also- Tampa needs to F*CKING HIT LIKE LAST GAME more often. Every game they've dominated has also been a game when they're laying wood to people. Tons of hits and controlling the neutral zone gives their offense great opportunities. They barely threw a hit in Game 1.

Tampa was awesome last night...
tonight..
QUACK, QUACK, QUACK, QUACK!! Go Ducks!

As Chicago veteran Ernie Banks liked to say - "let's play two" and so they did. almost all of the way through 3OT. Going to be some tired legs at the whirlpool today. There was even an channelling of soccer with the first ever head butt shot that was waived off. Ridiculous game.
