NHL Playoffs

So after this weekend Im pretty sure the lightning are going to lose the series and become the 5th team to lose the series when up 3-0.

I think it will really come down to the first period of the game on Tue night. If they come out flat, they lose the series.

It's not like the Canadians suck. They did finish with a better record than the Lightning and have home ice advantage. The Lightning took two on the road and one at home. They played well but lost to the home team. Tuesday night, they are back in front of the home crowd to close it out. If they had lost the first two on the road, won the next two at home and then won last game you would have been saying they were going to win it. Fact is they only have to win 1 of 2 to advance.

Loving the Rangers chances back at home for a game 7. Holtby finally looks human. Caps looked like they were on a power play for the last 10 minutes of the game last night, had me worried but glad we were able to hold on.

I knew Tampa was in some trouble when they got rocked in Game 4 instead of finishing them off. MTL squeeked out a win at home and now it's a series again.

TB had better come out with guns blazing tomorrow because a Game 7 in Montreal is the worst possible scenario.

The problem is Bishop, they guy just seems slow on the long shot. If I were a Canadian player I would shoot from the blue line.

Gonna be harder now with Callahan sidelined. Hell of a time for an "upper-body" injury.

you guys have been watching UCF sports too long. You'd think it was Montreal up 3-0 the way you are talking. Callahan had zero goals. He has been absent from the series. Him being out will cause the guys to tighten up and just work harder. Lightning 4-2 tonight.

Despite the fact that he doesn't have any points in this series, Callahan is phenomenal on the forecheck and, for a team that is sometimes criticized for its lack of aggression, he's often the most disruptive force out there on the ice. It'll be interesting to see how Cooper switches up the lines (yet again). It's going to be hard to replace Callahan on the first line with someone that will draw modest attention from the Canadiens.

GDS seems to think that goals is the only way to measure how good a player is. Lulz.

Most goals in the playoffs are a result of someone making a great play to keep the puck in the zone, which is something that Callahan has been doing incredibly well.

That said, injuries happen. Gotta suck it up and go win anyways.

No shit sherlock. If you look at the next sentence I said he has been absent. The guy has had an off series in my opinion and I think they will play better without him there tonight.

And I know you are an expert on.....well.....everything by your accounts

3-0 after 2. If they lose this game they might as well not even go to Montreal. Just forfeit and save the travel expenses.

That was the best game I've seen TB play in a long time. They kicked the shit out of MTL in every aspect.

Hat tip to Cooper for moving Stamkos to wing. He had so much more ice to work with and has really come alive now.

Montreal fans are going to have Kucherov's face implanted in their nightmares for a while.

RANGERS WIN IT IN OT!!!! First team to come back from 3-1 down two years in a row.... They're going to give me a heart attack though.

What a finish. My only regret is that we won't see Orpik suspended for his hit on Danny Boyle.

Bring on the Rangers!

Was that an illegal hit though? I'm not sure he left his skates. It was nasty, yes, but I'm fine with the no call.

He blatantly attacked the head, so in my opinion (and that of the studio talent) it was a dirty hit.

I'll admit I was going back and forth between the Cubs' game and didn't hear the commentary. You might be right. I just didn't see him leave his skates, which would be clearly blatant.

I initially thought his skates left the ice, but the replay seemed to show that the front tip of his right blade was still on the ice. It should've been a roughing at least.

He didn't leave the ice but it was definitely high. Was more upset that Boyle had to leave the game than at a no call.

They better gas up the Zamboni because there are going to be some ruts in the ice from the back and forth that is going to be this series. Rangers and Lightning are both fast. Somehow the Lightning have a 3-0 season record, but I don't think that is any indicator as to how they match up as much as it was they just managed to be the last one to score. This is the series I was hoping for. It should be a lot of fun to watch.

Lundqvist is good but Price is better. If the Lightning stay consistent and that is a big if, they should handle the Rangers. Nothing worse than having to play a New York sports team, fans are arrogant and the hype from the media is out of control.

LOL. Henrik is probably the best goalie in the world.

Uh, what?

Carey Price will win the MVP this year and he was the clear cut #1 goaltender in most every category. He was 7 spots higher than Henrik to end the regular season. Carey Price was far and away the best goaltender in the world this year, and the Lightning carved him up pretty good for most of the series.

They are both damn good goalies who can beat you. At this point in the season, you are going to be facing an elite goalie, elite goal scorers and monster defensemen. You just can't get this far on a lucky streak. This isn't college basketball. You have to grind it out, ice your wounds, eat your wheaties and prepare to get hit frequently.

I will say it a little slower so you understand: Best. Goalie. In. The. World.

Great game last night. Was watching bits of it in between the Orlando City game. My friend said he preferred the Rangers to win because the Bolts did well against them in the regular season.

Tampa matches up very good against teams like NY who try to do what they do- play fast and find open ice. They struggled against teams like Detroit who play half ice defense with big defenders smashing guys around.

A couple of things.

1) I read it at the same speed no matter how slowly you typed it and I don't stop for periods. ( amirite ladies? )
2) If you add One Of, I can fully get behind it. I don't subscribe to the idea that there is one that is clearly the best. The top 3-5 are all great, it just depends on the night and the guys playing in front of them. But yes, Lundquist is in that list as is Price. Bishop is not, though he has made an argument thus far in the playoffs.
3) Take your "the team is from New York so they must be the best in their league" blinders off. This is going to be one hell of a series.
