Do they realize that a percentage of those children will be US citizens?
Logic:
1. Kids are separated from parents
2. Kids do not have documents and probably don't know where they come from. Border Patrol being a government agency won't keep good records (or they'll get lost)
3. DCF will pick kids to put them in foster homes. Government agency, they already don't know where some of the kids are.
4. At some point they'll have to give the kids documents because due to the lack of documents a high percentage of the kids will not be deported. Mexico/Guatemala/Honduras/Nicaragua is/are going to play dumb and say "that kid is not a citizen of this country"
In any case, we'll be paying for their care anyway.
Since they have to keep them in a facility, why don't they keep them in the same place with their parents (make them prove they are the parents).

The Mexican Govt has spent the better part of the last 2 years whining about how we should be handling their citizens who cross here illegally, and exactly no time spent on pondering why so many of their own citizens are wanting out of Mexico and violating our laws to do so.
