Yes, he was a bad guy and orchestrated a number of terrorist activities by proxy. But taking him out was WAY DIFFERENT than Bin Laden or one of the ISIS terrorists.
He was a General in the Iranian National Army, not some scruffy dude with guns hiding out in a damn cave. Bush and Obama prudently realized that taking him out would escalate military action in the Middle East, not calm things down.
The very notion that somehow assassinating him was going to "make the world safer" is about as ridiculous as it gets -- as we've witnessed this evening with Iran's missile strike against one of our bases in Iraq.
No word yet but I pray that Iran targeted the desert around the base to 'send a message' without actually killing anyone. If there are casualties, God only knows where this will go next.

Interesting that nobody was killed in the Iran strikes. One report says that we have an early warning system, another says we were warned by Iraqi intelligence what was coming. Also a theory out there that Iran wasn't trying to do any significant damage and their missiles weren't fully loaded.

There is absolutely an early warning system for every kind of longer range projectile you can think of: mortar, arty, rocket, missile, and ballistic missile. There are also interception systems for every one of those. No idea what was deployed at those bases though.
It’s possible all three of those are true. It’s also possible all of Iran’s weapons that were on-target were intercepted and we aren’t claiming it for various reasons. That would be awfully subtle and out-of-character for Trump, but you never know.
Iran deliberately shot these missiles away from US forces. It's all a PR stunt for their populace, they didn't dare risk a US response if they killed more Americans.

Dead Americans in an attack from Iran would almost assuredly spell war and that's exactly what we don't want. I don't need additional ammo to hate on Trump, he sits impeached. I just don't want another war in the Middle East over his historically awful foreign policy. He took office with a deal with Iran in place and last night they sent missiles at our base. Call it what you want but he's damaged every diplomatic relationship that we have in some way.
