Real Leadership in times of Crisis

The Number One priority at this point is containment. But it's not very encouraging when reports are that, due to the limited supply of testing kits, the top priority for testing are older folks who have shown signs.

What's disturbing about these reports is that it's the infected people who are not currently showing signs who are the ones mostly likely to keep spreading it around.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that if we don't roll out an aggressive testing campaign that allows for mass testing on a statewide basis, we're going to move to an "Italy-like" situation.

Why would someone get tested if they show no symptoms? That's what makes this whole argument about containment ridiculous.

Another lie.

I've already said 3 times now that Dr Fauchi confirmed 3 days ago that in excess of 2M test kits were already shipped to states and areas that need them, with another 600,000 on the way this week. Unless you're telling me we have more than 2M elderly people exhibiting symptoms, this is a lie.

The number of actual tests administered in this country was reported as 9,000 as of last night. It was also reported -- by Dr. Fauchi -- that one of the challenges the US is facing that other countries aren't is that we're operating under a system that requires a doctor's okay before a test can be administered which significantly slows the testing process down. When asked by Congress if our system could be changed, Dr. Fauchi said it could. But, FYI, it hasn't yet.

Ok so basically you confirmed what I said, in that the White House cannot single handedly compel the actions of doctors

Thanks for helping

Reading comprehension clearly isn't your strong suit. Dr. Fauchi said OUR SYSTEM COULD BE CHANGED.

Gee, I wonder who could do that immediately by Executive Order??!?

If you’re insisting we can change things to allow the White House to compel the actions of medical providers then you’re even more full of shit then I thought.

PS- if this is true, why haven’t Democrats in the House passed such laws yet? Omg!

He’s the first one to whine about the tyranny of Trump but the moment it’s convenient he wants Trump to go all dictator. I guess it fits in with his patterns and his affiliation though, so I’m not sure why any of us are surprised.

Don't be a wuss. Everything will be fine. The world isn't ending over the flu.
The negative financial impact, etc. of this is and ultimately will be way more than the virus itself which probably won’t be around that long. People aren’t going to all perish from this.

Concerning yes, because is deadly, a relatively unknown and easily transmissible. It’s a pandemic

However, it’s not an apocalyptic event

Assuming in 6 weeks this is near gone, the economy will be in a snap back rally.

This is piss poor leadership from the top. Nobody knows what to do, 50 governors have 50 different strategy, the private sector is acting independently, and our president is blaming the CDC and Obama.

Thanks Chump.

Oh, I already know he's the absolute worst but now he's exploiting the virus to be a petty partisan jackass and we shouldn't let him do it.

he is absolutely insane. trump lives inside his head 24x7 and that is all he can think about. he is legitimately calling for trump to become a dictator but he doesnt even see it. i dont want trump to have that kind of power. im ok with trump asking the country to do these things, im not ok with trump forcing the country to do these things.

he wants to give trump a massive amount of power in the statement and doesnt see the problem with it. tds is a bitch.

At this point I'm almost wishing Trump would shoot someone on 5th Ave so I can watch Wayne and 85 call everyone names while bending over backwards to lick the blood off Trump's boots.

TDS is real folks. Wayne and 85 are perfect examples of it.

You knew TDS would show up with a virus scenario.
A virus scenario? Hell, ANY crisis scenario that would require real leadership from this President.

Most of us were hoping and praying we could get through Trump's tenure without a world war or another Bush-like financial disaster.

We came close. But sadly, not close enough.

Iran shooting down our drones and attacking oil tankers, ISIS, Turkey and the kurds being on the brink of war, russia russia russia, north Korea, Iraqi insurgents attacking our embassy. So many opportunities to start a world war, so many opportunities lost
